Thread: Cant we just cut Stun Armor...

Defense in half? This is part of the reason a true Master Fencer is totally ineffective in PVP. I think if stun armor capped at like 10% and if PSGs did not offer a bonus we as a class would be far more effective.


Can I ask one question. Why is this Black Metal Gaffi kept so secret. Does anyone feel like we do not need an AP weapon. My entire giuld goes into the DWB and the Corvette. I am useless in helping. I can only tank and even then I am terrible.


I watch this Fencer forumn, anyone know why it is so slow?

I did not realize there was another post sorta about this subject. Fencer has become just a support class, I mean people only take it for the defenses.


For instance, last night two Imperials attacked me. They were Melee stackers and one a Doctor/Pikeman the other a Pikeman/melee stacked. I am a Fencer/Doctor. We literally fought for 20 minutes as the two of them could not damage me, and I could not damage them.


But I read Milerunners other posts about the combat revamp. It gets me excited that he is excited about the changes that are coming. I think this forumns needs a more positive influence. I would like to be part of that movement. What do people think Fencer will be like in the revamp?


I personally enjoy how we can very well out last alot of proffessions, but the opponents know this and just go after the high damage people who are in our group. For example, When I am with a Rifleman they target him first and take him out before me. There is no way of helping my teamate in this instant. He dies qiuckly, and then I follow.

I think that everyone brings up stun armor a little too much. Half of the active pvpers on Kauri, and maybe we are different then other servers, have nothing but a stun helmet. Also about PSG, maybe in like a big guild pvp battle pvp'ers use PSG, but when your overt and you run into that lone rifleman in coronet, chances are he doesn't have quality stun armor or a PSG.




Maybe Im wrong about this, but when you can completely decimate the unprepared (a lot of PvP'ers) a profession cannot be completely useless. Also in duels, you will find that fencer can outlast anyother profession.

Not from my experience. Or not in my galaxy at least, everyone knows how to prepare for battle, and if they don't they learn qiuck.

On Naritus, you can NOT PvP without the following

40% stun helmet
20% or higher everythign else
all composite, all effectivness sliced
mind buffs, with mind stats migrated as high as they go
Vasarian Brandy
40% stun PSG
Poison/disease resistance buffs
Regular doc buffs

Stun is a bgi issue, and a Fencer/Doctor simply cannot be killed unless several peopel stack fire DoTs on him. However, he cant do a ton of damage either.

Well...I'm actually all for stun armor.


I just personally think mitigation needs to go. Now. They've talked about it, now lets get it removed.

On Bloodfin, everyone PvPs with at least 39-42% Stun resist armor, PSGs with at least 34% Stun resist (this is minimum). A Stun Baton is fairly ineffective when going up against these odds. Best hope it that you break the PSG, wear off the Synth Steak on the player and outlast them in a fight.

Stun armor resists isn't the problem, it's the lack of AP weapons. Did you know that armor with 1% stun resists will decrease dmg done by a stun baton by 50% and then the additional 1% because the stun baton is ap0?

My zabrak rifle/mcm only wears a stun helmet, chest and leg armordue to HAM considerations. The PSG makes up for the rest of the vulnerable areas. Acklay batons are sadly nulified by that combo and its easier on the HAM.


Its true though. There are alot of overts running around who never bother to get stun armor or a simple PSG. Most are worried about TK's and go for the 80-90% stuff which has 0 stun protection.

ya thats way different....on chilly we wear entire suites and it destroys me. i wouldnt mind it as much if we just had ap1 on the stun baton or even on gad.....OR BETTER YET A NEW WEAPON ALL TOGETHER. fencers get the shaft on new weapons, think about it, rifleman-bezerker, disrupter /pistoleer- de-10 geo pistol /pikeman- crapload of poisen and disease pikes/ swordsman- scythe........and so on and so forth. when is it our turn, give us something that gives us a better edge in offense!!

I agree, one of thne main reasons i dropped fencer was because it was useless for offense. Definatly need to exclude stun armor from the game.

Excluding it entirely would go back to the point were Stun Weapons become too powerful again, a compromise needs to be found.

I say they give the stun baton AP1 or at least give us another weapon. Everyone is right, why do everyuone cept fencers and carbineers get new weapons...and carbineers got nyms carbines a while back. The mace is nice and all, but nooone has any idea on its stats or how to get it...why not give us an awesome schematic weapon, which is REALLY hard to get the components and stuf...is that so much to ask for?!?! I WANT AP1!!! i mean i thought we were supposed to parallel pistoleers....in that we are fast and hit the health pool. Also good defenses....so why do they get...lets see dx2 (AP1), repub (AP1) DE-10 (AP1). Makes no sense. I kind of understand why stun batons dont get AP, because it really only hurts animals...ever try to hit a base with 1? doesnt work, ok so no AP, but damn we need somethin to use in pvp....we were AWESOME before stun armor became all the rage. On corbantis if you dont have 35%+ stun and 80 base armor youll get eaten alive in pvp.....i know from experience
