Last night I fought with my usual group. Our policy is to let the melee finish the lair after bleeding it, so my TKA friend and I do the honors. We are at the same level --- for every onehit of damage from me, he washitting THREE times with MUCH higher damage. His xp from the lair- 4000+. Mine? 1021.

I am seriously getting discouraged. I untrained most of my carbine skills - and I'm starting to regret it.

I am curious whether you are using a slow weapon. I thought TK were subject to the same one-second cap as everyone else. Was this a question of the wait on specials having a shorter delay?

The damage is something I am used to. TK have a huge damage modifier (+120, I believe) and they usually are outdamaging me by a similar margin. Nice to know that fencer has absolutely nothing that compensated for this differentual. I do not think that there is much question but that TK, for all its flaws, is significantly better than fencer especially when you add in the meditate line.

I am also curious what weapon you were using, andwhat level of Footwork you have. Swinging at cap speed vs. swinging slower can be a night and day difference. Just the Footwork 4 box alone shot me up enough,with the current way speed is bugged, that the first few fights Ihad after getting it,I was giddy.On top of those two things, were you styling, or just swinging?

To complete the picture, you then need to find out what your TKA friend was using, knuckler or bare fists, and his/her speed level. Also, whether the TKA was styling or not.

Notto say thatthis doesn't sound discouraging, but when you have the complete picture, it will probablyall makea bit more sense.

My friend and I are both 1101... He uses VKs... and at the time we were both doing specials and straight attacks.

Ride, my specs on my curved aren't as good as mu vibro blade. Again, this weapon was made by one of the (if not the) best weaponsmiths on our server. Please compare to my vibroblade above.

I don't remember all the stat's for my curved sword. But I believe it is in the 180's, 1.6 delay. When I'm not doing specials I hit once a second doing 100 to 400 damage. It isn't to bad. I have done 500+ damage when doing some specials. It is a very sweet sword and my ham costs aren't to bad. They are higher of course when doing specials. I think it is my favorite sword. I have heard that Gaffi sticks count as one handed swords and that they work really good. I ran into someone that was a master fencer and that is what they use. He said that it is pretty sweet. Cost him like 15k or something for it. Then he got it sliced. Sorry I don't remember the stats on it. Might be something to look into.

you might u try getting a master weaponsmith to make you one for the dps is amazing.

um.. mine was made by a Master Weaponsmith (supposedly one of the best)on the Flurry server.......
