Thread: Master Fencer kills?
This point has been brought up to the devs before, and so far there has been no expressed desire to "nerf" anything related to this. Fixing exploits they feel are game-breaking or unbalancing are among their top priorities, so if they felt this was an exploit you can bet it most likely would have been "fixed" quite some time ago.
There is an element I think you guys might be missing. Althought I said "yes" to flickering back and forth, it doesn't really happen like that. First off, try setting a macro that lets you unequip a piece of armor, equip a piece of clothing, equip a weapon, perform a special attack, go back to your normal weapon, unequip the clothing, and re-equip the armor all in the same button press.
Go ahead and try it out and come back after you have experimented a bit. Go ahead, I'll wait.....
....../tapFoot..... /dealSolitair..... /lookWatch.....
Ok, did you discover the loophole? While this CAN all be done in the same macro... it CANNOT all be done in the same timeframe. Unless their is a delay inherent to the command, all commands are considered simulataneous. This means you get a message "This attack cannot be performed with this weapon" as you see that you are unarmed, or "You already have something equipped in that location" and find yourself in mosaic of mis-matched clothing, armor, and nekkidness.
The only way to pervent this is to place purposeful delays (in the form of the /pause command) to keep the sequences correct. Since /pause is for a 1.0 second minimum, you cannot have all this happening every single atack unless you wish to inject1-3 second delays betweenyour attacks which would put a significant drop in your damage output. So I do not use this method non-stop.
I only use this macro when Iknow I need to reposition myself, or run, or whatever else that means I will not be using specials for a few seconds or more. When I do it you see my clothing, weaponry, and armor change around (flicker if you will) over a 2-3 second period as it all getschanged around. The only thing this assists me with is having to try and run around while shuffling through my inventory to accomplish the very same thing... most likelymessing it up in the process. To my understanding, that's the point of macros is to minimize redundant hassles when time is of the essense. That is my intent when I do this.
If the devs ever change their minds andusing the macro engine in this manner isdeemed an exploit, I will accept it without a complaint. As it is currently, I see nothing wrong withstreamlining anything that is simply a hassle.

When making a post please note the board administrator's text at the top of the screen. It says. "When writing your message, remember to keep the language clean." If you follow this, you'll stop seeing all the **EDIT**'s in your messages. I know what you have to say is important to you, and you don't wish to loose the impact of your nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. By selecting ones that the filters won't delete you can retain the emphasis you were hoping to relay. Just a thought.

But either way, it is basically a principle of fair play to take these restrictions at face value and not to use something that avoids the intent of the limitation.
you're assuming the intent of the developers. they could very well have made armor so easily switchable on purpose.
i think were my definition of an exploit is something that's more obvious. such as the stacking of buffs to become invincible, or the method to dupe items. they have built these functions into the game, and they know the workings intimately. it's very hard to believe that they didn't run across this armor macro-ing in testing and that they didn't conciously choose not to modify it. in a situation like this, without personal contact with the developers, i must assume that if it is allowable, it is not an exploit. if it is an exploit, then they will fix it. but let's face it: it's not like i've reverse-engineered the system, decompiled any code or anything like that. they're the ones who gave me the ability and they're also the ones who gave me the instruction to create these macros.
you may sound preachy, but we all do on a subject like this. we can probably assume that everyone knows none of us possess a soap box when speaking.
to further this thread: what constitutes an exploit? this *must* be objective. we can't say "whatever the devs intended" because we don't know. my idea would be anything that makes you invincible, or bypassing entirely an in-game system.

Just a quick Note about Kyrat slaying for those who wish to know
I do not use any macros, cheatsor exploits, but select the best Melee Skills, equiptment, weapons, foods and powerups. Nothing more to it than that!
Indeed taking on the hardest level Mob in the game Solo requires a great deal of preperation, tactics and skill So all who say Fencer is weak, or indeed Pikeman for that matter think again!
PS may i have a FSS toon please =)
Gorax is the hardest mob by 25 creature levels. the bigest krayt is CL275 and the gorax is CL 300. its over 30k ham if i remember corectly. good luck finding one since they took out the static mission spawn though, and i dont think they have a spawn area either like the krayt. heh just clearing up a comon misconception cause im sick of people saying they soloed the hardest mob in the game.

For the moment, I don't think there is anything that I cannot solo. Buffed, unbuffed, spices, no spices, brawler moves or no brawler moves.
I haven't played my fencer character in almost a week because there is nothing big left to kill. It's impossible to solo Krayts now with player cities surroundingevery Krayt spawn area. They are camped 24/7. Thanks to the RIS armor, the Kimo Village is now also camped 24/7. I used to make money selling their loots but now it's just not very fun or even possible. We are so easily outdamaged by novice classes that it's nearly impossible to get a loot drop anymore.
I worked my butt off (that's why it's bionic now ya know?) to make a living as a brawler character and thanks to all the mission nerfs, I have no reason to go do those anymore either. I found it nearly impossible to survive on hides and horrible mission payouts after Dathomir became Nerfomir. Now I work maybe one hour a night with my smuggler and bring in over a million credits a week now just by making a few runs around the outskirts of our city to collect a few resources to load my factories with.
I'm running out of reasons to even be a Fencer. I can't even do it to be different anymore whenthere are 4 other Fencers in our city alone. Gotta love those f*ckin holocrons.... ![]()

as long as you have a stim in your inventory (you don't have to put it in your toolbar) you will use it, and heal yourself. i assign that to F12, for example. as long as my inventory (NOT your backpack) has stims, i'm good to go with instant self-heal.
hope that helps.

With full buffs and a muon gold I've solo'd 6 Tusken Warlords, Tusken Chiefs at the same time. There isn't a tusken that I can't kill with ease.
BTW ingnore my sig. I'm 3-4-4-4 fencer.
