I dont think we need a knockdown cause we have one lunge 2 and are damage output is fine you just have to use tactics and think abit to win in pvp

Post number 2, Highlighted in red Is he refering to JUST the bleed damage?


sorry yes i was refering to the damage done by the dot the damage over time ( the bleed )was lowered and the intial strike damage was incresed

hello everyone,


i have been a fencer for a couple months, and i truely enjoy the profession. i have read through many of the posts in this forum but admittadly not all of them. now i am not out to suggest the nerfing of another profession but i do want to make a comparison to the "heavy swordsman" profession in referance to the "foil type" weapon many would like to see. i understand that the weapons in the heavy sword tree have greater damage than anything acheivable in the fencer trree, my problem is that a heavy swordsman can have a two-handed curverd sword at 2.7 speed with a max unsliced damage of 240, plus it is medium armor piercing. the best weapon i can get on the wanderhome server is a gadriffi baton 3.6 speed 223 max damage and no armor piercing. at the master level the speed of the weapon is negated by the modifiers provided. so what we have is a heavy swordsman who is as fast as a fencer and is capable of inflicting more DPS. most heavyswordsman i know wear advanced comp armor when fighting, i in contrast wear BE enhanced clothes. i would like to see the fencer profession granted a weapon comperable to the new scythe blade or maybe an advanced gadriffi baton that has light or medium armor piercing and 20-30% more damage. alternately the fencer profession could hit faster than the other professions at master level if the weapons aren't equal.

My complaints and ideas:


Titles: Blade Weaver... coolest title in the game!! no complaints in this department what so ever, I will keep this title (even though its not the "highest" title a fencer can have) for the rest of my SWG life (i like it alOOOOt


Bleeding: Mkay... this kinda sucks. The bleeds now do more "first strike" damage then before if u have noticed (i did a bleed 1 for 1200 ??) but the bleed Dot effect is HUGELY diminished.

Only complaint about the bleeds i have is the Mob fighting.

I could solo several high level mobs by bleeding all, then taking them down 1 by 1 before (record is 2 nightsisters spell weavers and 2 protectors + 1 sentinel ?). This is now defunct becouse of bleeds and rthe damn fishnak nerf

But other then that (using bleeds when hugly outnumbered) i have no complaints.


Speed: GAWD DAMN iT mAAAAAhn!! more of it, and plenty more of it!!

The thing we Fencers have and the reason I Joined our group of Fencers is the speed!

What somebody above me said about fencer speed and TKM speed is extremly true. To me it seems if u rerad the discription for Fencer and TKM, the Fencer is Speeeeeeeeed and accurecy, and the TKM is accurecy and damage. as it stands now TKM has speed, accurecy and damage, while Fencer have ok speed, ok accurecy and so so damage. Im not saying "NERF the TKM" What I am saying is FiX the Fencer speed and damage.

We need more speed!!


Weapons: ... we have **edit** weapons, face it, the gaffi stick is good sure and the stun batton is good to (now absolete in PvP by the awsome Jawa rifle btw), but the rest is just... nothing.

New weaponS, several, a pletherea of weapons tbh '


More then that I can only complain about the mind cost!!

Mind is Essential in PvP!!

As it is now it almost allways stands between me and my target, who incaps me first. I usually win

And that is not alot of fun, Fencer Special GOBBLES up mind.. Fencer CoB EATs mind... and if u wantb to be effective, ull need warcry and intimidate + some medic (or in my case doc) to heal those pesky states that neutrilize our CoB, and all those skills just loves the mind


Also!!:

KD: This should most deffenetlly become a skill in the fencer tree!!

Lunge 1 or 2 just dont compare to say Pistolwhip, or other proffesions specific KDs.

We need and we most sertenly want an own Fencer KD!!

Wierd - that doesn't bother me at all.


It doesn't bother me one bit that thier attacks get more powerful as they progress and our don't because fencers arn't musclesmen.


It doesn't bother me one bit that they have a higher DPS than we do because we shouldn't be high damage dealers.


It doesn't bother me one bit we don't have AP because the for the weapons we have it doesn't make sense to.


What does bother me is that I don't want to be Heavy swordsman in fencers clothing, a TKA in fencers clothing or a Polearms character that acts like a fencer. I want to play as a fencer. Atm all the Melee combat classes are practically the same and arguing the way you just have this isn't going to change. No Melee combat class should be comparable they should all be different.


Our attacks not getting more powerful as we level shouldn't bother us but we should revel in the fact that we are hard to hit and can live without the restricting armour. The only complaint I have is that when buffed this doesn't shine through to us.


DPS shouldn't matter to us for example. What matters is our speed should let us get several status attacks off on the opponent before they get many attacks off for example.


What I'd like to see is:


1) a greater variety of status attacks(some race dependent ones as well)


2) Changing buffing to reflecthow stats are primarily based and giving advantages/disadvantages based on that.

As it statnds from my view is that the Dev's haven't nerfed anything (now before you flame hang on a second) this is all part of the Combat Rebalance issue. I know how staggering this bleed change is to everyone but we will not see the full effects untill the combat pass is fully complete. I know alot use bleeds however i personally don't just incase i forget to pull out a fishak, muon, blue milk, or some other substance for mind (yes i still have fishak) as when you bleed they continually agro you. If i get incapped (god forbid) i like to have the chance to run away after i get up.


I believe that i read that the issues that will be covered in the combat pass (at least that affect us) will be to change the speed caps, fix HAM costs, and not make the mind such a voulnerable bar when in combat. Once these affects come into place i feel that we will see the Fencer class take off in a whole new direction.


Untill we see the next patch we can huff and puff all we want about the bleed dmg but it will not affect the current situation and only cause us to focus on more negatives.

I agree with most of the Masters that have posted above.... Bleed does not affect me much at all. Sure i'll throw in one for good measure every now and then on High End mobs, but thats about it. I'm kind of on the Nuetral line of DPS: of course i'd like to see more, but not entirely sure that fits with our role as fencers. I think the thing that sets us apart is our defence. I was fighting Janta Rockshapers on dantooine the other night and a Swordsman came up and was fighting one a little ways away from me. He got his azz handed to him pretty quickly, and I finished mine, then his. Of course it took me 5 minutes or so (without buffs/ and or Crack). Point is, all that extra DPS he had over me didnt do him a bit of good, but my defenses made me able to last thru 2 fights while he couldnt survive the first. I think the Profession is doing good overall, and have no complaints EXCEPT for the cheesy weapons. Hell, Fencers shouldnt be using a damn stick, or a baton to fight with. I think i'd have to agree that we need some kind of rapier. I'd say foil also, but then Kali would hate me for life!
