Thread: MASTER FENCER WEAPON Here is a thought to give us a decent weap at master!
When I read this, I immediately thought of the epic weapons in EQ......except for one big difference:
Hopefully the SWG ones would all be useful (ragebringer anyone?

I like the idea of having a system of quests that rely on interdependency of classes to get the weapon.
However, I have a very different view of what this weapons stast would be. If you want to be a fencer, you should at leat get a foil. My design would look very much like a foil, long and thin.
Stats that I think would be appropriate: (scenarios: If it is scenario A, use the other A stats, same with B)
Vibro-foil
AP: A: 1 B: 2
Type: Kinetic or Heat
Damage: A: 140 - 230 (ish) B: 100 - 140 (ish)
Speed: 2.0 - 2.5
Range mods are standard.....
Special Costs: 20 30 20 (just guessing, I am not a fencer, so I don't know the average odds on your weapons.
)
A foil is designed to be fast, so my design reflected this. If the AP is only 1, then I would rather have more damage. With teh AP as 2, then the extra damage would be too overpowering. I am saying kinetic or heat because a vibro unit in the blade would cause the blade to vibrate rapidly, heating the air around the blade.
This weapon could use NS vibro motors as an optional component to replace standard vibro motors. I say optional because Pikeman and now TKA's will be hunting for NS vibro motors.
The speed of this weapon reflects the use of a foil in real life, quick graceful strokes.
The cert would be in the master fencer box.

See, I would like a master weapon, but I want something effective in PVP and PVE, and particularly something effective against the baddies in the corvette. Part of the issue is that no one weapon can do it all, hence the need for the weapons overall to be rehauled in terms of damage and AP.
But for a master weapon, I think it should be unique. And to the one asking about people just grinding the quest for more swords, yes, that would be possible, but only if the original one they had was destroyed or given to someone else (although I like the idea of making them non-tradeable to prevent this). In my system, you need to get rid of the old one to get a new one. And it also prevents you from using the master sword in the last repeatable quest task to re-get the schematic, because the old guy will not give you a schematic if you have a master sword anywhere equipped or in your inventory...

Since you lack the ability to actually comprehend what you read, the point of my post that you quoted and highlighted was to say that weapons needed to be overhauled because there is a lack of variety in what we have that is useful.

For the original poster, if you want AP2 swords..........do heavy swordsman. Fencer is light swords not big Scythes, and power hammers. Yes, you ahve an argument about fencer only using sticks. Then suggest making a new skin for the stun baton and gaderiffi baton. Same amount and type of damage, just name them something different and create a new skin. Fencers are not suppose to have AP2 weapons. They weild light swords, not heavy ones. That's why there is a heavy swordsman profession.
You have any idea how out of control the DPS for fencer would get with an AP2 weapon?
