IIRC, you can't choose which gets sliced, so you gotta pray...it'll always be good, but it may not be what you're looking for. But yes, you can use a powerup on it after its been sliced.

i just got the curved sword and i got it sliced, it was onlykinda good i got a speed slice fo 17% so now the stats are 70-163 dmg. 2 attck spd. fairly good but i thinki will save up for anopthr one and get it sliced


i also bouoght a meleepowerup thingy that adds 15% attck dmg. and so now its 70-180 pretty good but it will run out

On comparing the effectiveness of the vibro blade and the curved sword, the armorpiercing is a big deal when facing an armored opponent, but is less beneficial against an unarmored opponent.


AR1 Opponent:


Curved = 116.5 ave. base damage X 0.5 = 58.25 ave. damage


Vibro = 83.5 ave. base damage X 1.0 = 83.5 ave. damage


AR0 Opponent:


Curved = 116.5 X 1.0 = 116.5 ave. damage


Vibro = 83.5 X 1.25 = 104.375 ave. damage


So against an armored opponent, the vibro will do 15 extra damage than the curved. Against unarmored opponent, the curved will do 12 more damage. A slight edge to vibro, but its also a tad slower, so probably even. However, the vibro has better HAM costs, so if you use specials a lot, go with the vibro.

After consulting my favorite master weaponsmith on starsider, he told me what stats he had on an advanced vibroblade. He said the ham is about 15 more than before, and had a max damage around the 140-150 mark and 1.2 speed... presliced... now that sounds perty good to me...

why is the vibro dmg. multiplied by 1.25 ?

1.2 speed presliced? dont you mean POST sliced? pre slice means BEFORE the slice, post slice means AFTER slice. i'm a master smuggler AND a fencer. i've sliced many weapons and have looked at many adv vibros (i can tell they are adv because of ham costs) and i'm also on starsider. the common speed is 2.6, curved's are 2.3 and rykks are 2.5 all non sliced

I am using a curved sword with 73-193 with a speed of 2.3, thats including an 18% dmg slice (which is far better since higher speed = higher ham costs per dmg.


I dont see any weapon that comes close to this, but I think I have yet to see a good set of vibro blades.

Guys, comparing weapons between servers is ludicrous and a waste of time. Different resources exist so obviously the weapons can be radically different. At best, you'll get a general idea.

You obviously haven't looked too hard.


My curved: 88-208 with 2.4 speed. Range modifiers are +10 on all three, and HAMs are 31/57/40 and the wound chance is 32.7.


It also got a pathetic slice job: the damage only increased by 17%. It could be MUCH better.


...and mine isn't even the best I've seen. Look around in the best swords thread.
