Before armor was out of whack, We were less-damaging in PVE, and MORE DAMAGING in PvP!


It was in balance before stun layers.

Everyone knows this... and I can't even express to you how much every single correspondent wants to see a change in resistances.


We're just debating how great a change is required.

You are wrong. the only change we really really need, that is easy easy easy to do is cap primary buffs andcap drastically secondary stat buffings.


armor will fall down by itself then.

Neige, There is a strong argument for doing both.

All I can say is that we're working on trying to come to an equitable solution on that.

The important things for fixing the fencer profession are


1. Fix defenses against high end (very high accuracy) mobs - At present there is no point taking a fencer in a group going against one of these mobs, we get all the disadvantages of being fencers with none of the advantages.


Once this is done there are a couple of things that could be improved.


2. Many fencer moves do similar things, e.g stats attacks.


3. The most commonly used fencer weapon is the Gaderiffi baton that is certed at One-handed 1, there are many fencer weapons that are never used. There is no point asking for more weapons when we aren't using the ones we have. Some of these could be improved (especially the swords), the damage on our swords could be improved, even get AP1 possibly. Swords would be far easier for the devs to change since they can't be acklay bone enhanced.

Issue: A fencer should use a fencer weapon

Short Description: Okay, so this is a personal preference, but I want my fencer to use a one handed sword while fencing, and I know there are others who want the same thing. However, the two most effective weapons are a stick and a baton. I don't want to sacrifice effectiveness by using crappy one-handed swords because I feel a fencer should use a sword and not a stick.

Possible Solutions: 1) Make it possible for the Weaponsmiths to craft better versions of the vibro-blade or the kashykkian blade or the one hand curved swore, versions of these that would rival the gaffi stick for effectiveness. OR 2) Create a new weapon, a sabre or rapier or foil or some type of sword, that would be as effective (or more if you want) as a gaffi stick. I don't care if it's a new damage type or kinetic. I just want an effective one handed sword.

1. My Fencer Didnt hit ones nor did he swing in PvP.

Well, today i went PvPing with a group. Using my 39% stun armor and a 212 max Stun baton, i run up to an overt, and start attacking.

Well, i begin to notice im hitting him, and i notice my animation isnt even swinging. I used specials, but he was recieving no damage. And another thing, my armor, it did nothing against head shots from rifleman. This has been happening after i went to the FS Village to start quests. I notice it is persisting.


Solution: The FS village did something to my character. It seems like i cannot hit nor do any damage. Could the FS stuff bugged me?

The fencer came about as a result of exploiting weakness in the seams of armor or wearing down heavy armored opponents. Using lighter faster weapons to defeat attackers with mobility, agility, and quickness. Flexible thin swords toexploit weakness in the seams of armor.Fencers should have the option offencing weapons witharmor piercing ability with much greater bleed effect but less over all damage. This would handle many issues with this profession.

1 Fighting ranged PVP or NPC

Even novice ranged players can kite me as a Master Fencer and I can do little to no damage.

Solution:

Allow thrown weapons such as knives, small swords,or for TKM (throwing stars). They could work similar to a grenade.They would haveattributes such as weight for increase chance of knockdown but less accurate and a shorter range. Also balance for increased accuracy and range. Sharpness for increase bleed effect. The thrower would choose head, arms or legs, and body to attack or bleed mind, action, or health. They would be more accurate standing still. The weapons can be recovered 15 seconds after combat ends or apon cloning. They would decay with a loss chance that would randomly cause 1 or more to be lost which would have a chance equal to the decay rate of a normal weapon with repairs.

1 Lost Loot with fencer vs other professions


As a fencer I can't do as much damage as a Swordsman or TKA. I have fought death watch wraiths which can take up to 2 hours to kill where a swordsman can kill them in 15min or less. If I'm not grouped I can fight something for an extended period and have another profession run up and kill it off and I don't have access to the corpse.


If I go to the nightsister stronghold ungroupedI can't get access to any loot but I am accepting the most risk compared to ranged players.


Solution: Access to loot shouldn't be a factor of damage deliveredbut a factor of combatrounds engaged.
