Thread: stun batons.. crap or not crap
I read in the dev tracker a while ago stun batons would be getting a boost soon, than I think it will be worthit.
I half agree with the post above. Yes ham is high on high resist chitin but it isa trade off- I dont use specials unless necessary in my 50% kinetic chitin, and I can take mobs Id never be able to without it...
I recently achieved Master Fencer on Bloodfin. How might you ask?
Using my STUN BATON! (and some help from a Graul pet)
Do yourself a favor: get a stun baton, and head over to Yavin, and start beating the hell out of klikniks and their lairs. They are well armored, but all are susceptible to stun damage. Using berserk and finishing with Cho Sun flurries (and with amaxed footwork tree), I was getting 4000 exp or more for Kliknik Queens and Hunters, 4k-5k exp per lair, and 1k-3k exp per lesser klikniks. Obviously, having the pet taking the beating is the key to this (I'm sure droids would work great too, just stay at max melee range), but using this approach would net me 500K to 800K exp per full day of fighting. If you get bored, go beat on Mawgax (large walking birds), which give similar exp.
The best part of Yavin is that there are good exp lairs all over the area (I hunted near the Imperial Outpost), but there are enough non-aggressive creatures that you can actually navigatethe map in relative safety compared to some of the harsher planets.
If you aren't quite ready for klikniks, try the mamiens (ape-like creatures). They have light armor, but they don't assist each other at all.
Notes:
My baton is nothing remarkable. Under 100 max damage and sliced speed of 3.1.
There are some places where the vibroblade was the way to go. For the most part I put my curved away on Yavin.
So to summarize, given the right applications, stun batons are far from crap....
Im going to wait a few weeks until I think that the Batons are perfected.
