Thread: All fencers read -1 handed Scythe
Actually yes Lightsabers are technically energy damage. Unfortunately its an extremely focused and powerful energy beam equal to a turbolaser. Trying to equate this to SWG numbers would put it in the thousands. So lets see...90% energy resist vs. a 2k damage lightsaber. Thats still 200 points getting through. 400 if its only standard 80%. Wow, isn't that what they hit for now?

Lightsabers used to do kinetic damage type before Pub 9 I think and their damage range was in the 1000's and not sure what the AP was. While I agree it seems odd I think lightsabers do deserve their own damage type as it is a unique weapon in the game and the fact that only a person skilled in the force can use one should count for something. Look at it like this... ever fight a TKM with 200+ damage VK's and you where wearing 80%+ kinetic armor? They still do a large amount of damage.. now image a jedi weilding a 1000+ damage lightsaber also doing kinetic damage... it's over 5x the damage a TKM would do. I think the fact that they changed it to lightsaber damage tyope and lowered the damage range was a huge nerf to the jedi profession.
But that would be better answered by a jedi which I am not. I just remeber when it happened and the complaints heard from many jedi.

Stick them in the ribs, push a button, and watch their eyes light up....hmmm interesting. Now if only composite didn't have such a high naturalelectricity resist.

We've been over this plenty of times. Fencer defines anyone who uses sword skill..period. Guess what Musashi classed himself and every other swordsman in Japan...yup a fencer. In SWG its any who uses one-handed sword (and club unfortunately) skills.
Only modern day so called "fencers" use car antennae to fight. I bet you've never even seen modern day Olympic class saber fights have you?
