hmm1 handed scythe... maybe... actually no

i agree with the idea that were meant to wear down our opponents, if we were given a weapon with ap2... it would be really nice, but we would be quite overpowered imo. still a ap1 sword style weapon is definitely what fencer needs... everytime i wip out my stun baton for pvp, i always think "hmm ima fencer using a club... nice "

What about a katana that has a special damage type to it that is chosen by a quest. Kinda like the scythe quest except the katana would do different damage depending on what loot u get from the quest.There wouldbe different motors you would get forelectric, heat, cold, and what ever else there is.And would it be a good idea to just give each armor 2 weakness no matter what? Lightsaber(till they add corotosis) and one random weakness. Then there would be a weapons race for more thanjust stun damage(and what little damage it can now do with all those shields).

the big argument is that our ONLY AP1 weapon is weak and near useless. Most if not all fencers would like a decent damage AP weapon, something that can get a Min dmg above 100. Its the gaps in the min-max that kill a weapon in my opinion.



Have you PvP'ed lately? Intimidate+stun=One dead fencer, or even just intimidate for that matter. Once those are applied, I rarely dodge another attack. So in the end, I'm easy to hit, and I can't do any damage, hmm...

Oooooooh... Cool. Never thought about that. It would definitely fit our profession pretty well.


Katana = finesse


Broadsword = lack there of.


Only prob is, we and swordsman already have one.


One handed curve sword and Two handed curve sword = katana.


Ours doesnt really look like a katana though. More of a dagger. I would like a somewhat cool looking weapon however.

Making the curved sword AP1 would be the better answer. No need to add new graphics and animations just code it to AP1. The damage output if already pretty nice but still below swordsman and pikeman and the HAM costs are already evenly balanced.


If need be just call it a vibro curved sword.

Personally, I think it would need to be some kind of "vibro-" or electric, or some other kind of powered weapon for us to have AP1.


I think AP levels for the professions are implemented partly through the weapon stats, but are also accounted for through the animations.


The fencer animation doesn't suggest someone who is trying to overcome armor. it looks more like the fencer is trying to execute fast, precise cuts. Which is as it should be. Compare to the swordsman, not only using a heavier-looking weapon, but also executing much bigger swings, using the weight of the weapon to crush or penetrate armor.


As a result, when a fencer animation indicates a blow to the head, the result is dizziness or blindness, when a swordsman animation shows a blow to the head, it's a crushing blow. So I think if we had a one-handed version of the scythe, the fencer's animation would not necessarily suggest an attempt to get through armor.


Who knows how armor will be balanced, but I would say if we were going to have a stronger weapon than a vibroblade, it would have to be a sword version of a vibroblade, some weapon that was inherently armor-piercing.

My suggestions:

1. A one handed chainsaw
2. One of those turkey electric knives
3. Vibro-Butterknife

My serious suggestion:

1. Make the Gaffi Stick AP1. It has a spike after all, that has to count for AP.

The animations are just eye candy.....


I also seem to recall one of them where we jump up and do a two handed hit with hit with our weapon. Even with a spiked gaffi stick its not penetrating a whole lot.

this might be a lil off, but talkin bout all these weapons brought up something! why are lightsabers in a class of their own type of dmg (lightsaber dmg) ? arent lightsabers beams of ENERGY in which can be resisted by almost any armor in the game... odd, actually... real odd! theres no such thing as "lightsaber" dmg type lol. its not like i shoot "lightsaber" out of my gun, its just "energy" just like how a lightsaber uses "energy" as dmg no "lightsaber" part... think about it, and if im wrong TOO BAD.
