Yer just gonna have to put any knowledge of what "is" right out of your head.

Combat in the new system can't hardly even be spoken of in terms we use now, let alone look or feel like it does now.

This is my nice way of saying, complaining about how it is now is completely and utterly pointless.

ok ok...no more speculation from me. I'll remain silent and wait for the documents on the CR like a good little Fencer

The Junta Mace is a new one handed weapon. As the above post by Minerunner implies it is a reward given for a quest. A previous post by Minerunner alludes to the fact that it is given as a reward for the Bespin Election set of quests. Unfortunately the fact that it is mentioned in the above post also implies that it is not being rewarded as it is intended to be. Don't expect to see this weapon widespread for awhile.

oky - next question - what is the Bespin Election set of quests?

i have been playing since August of last year - and have never heard of this.

Ok i found out - had a hell of a noob moment - he was referring to the Bestine Elections. Well this turend out to be a big waste of time for me today. The guy who is currently elected sent me to the tusken fort to kill someone whom he has no idea is. I spent two full buff session there killign the hell out of Tusken Warlords - Chiefs - Captians - and anything else red that pped up. All i got was some crappy loot and nothign to make the guy that is elected tell me that i had finished his assignment.

Does this thing still work or is it something the devs have taken out?

Thanks alot man - funny thign is i cannot find anyone in the game that knows anythignabotu this junta mace - i've asked several wel known WS and not even they know abotu this - i guess the question is - is it worth all the trouble - most responses i get from those i talk to are that it must suck since none is really trying hard to get one

yeah i messed up the city. whoops. hah.

As far as the quality goes, Minerunner has alluded to the fact that it is well worth the effort to obtain this item. But like i mentioned before nobody knows exactly how this is supposed to be obtained other than what i've mentioned. And the fact that it is listed in this topic means that it is probably not being rewarded as intended so we have no real way of finding out how it is supposed to be obtained until someone tells us.

So... will ever be able to sheath our weapons? I'm sick of killing of myself whenever performing an emote, and also of running around top speed with my knife out, pointed up.

Question Minerunner,

I am certain this has passed many peoples minds, so here it is:

Will we all get a blue frog or /restartConversion or some means to change our template once the CR goes live? I ask this because it is most likely, people will not want to be a fencer, pistoleer, or whatever profession they are based on the "specialized" roles the professions will turn into. I am going to assume that these specializations will be "tanks" "damagers" "healers" "status effectors" "bleeders/woudners". Thus the way I play fencer today, may be more inline with a swordsman or pikeman post CR.

If this is granted, itis a nice boost to all us vets that have been here from day 1 and would like to just play the game, and not have to rebuild a new skill set. I know I have changed templates alot, but after 6 months of playing Iwas quitehappy with the skill set I put together. With the assumption of it being more difficult and time consuming to redistribute your skills, this will be very welcome as a one time feature.

Well,

I highly doubt there will be a conversion method. (read as about as likely as getting a year free SWG play time)

But I do know that what is planned will make it slightly easier to go from one profession to another within the same catagory.

Example: If I'm a Master Swordsman/Master Fencer, it will be far easier for me to Drop Master Swordsman for Master Pikeman, than it would be now.

I can't say why this is yet, but from the stuff I've seen this will hold true.

And there are some cool ways in which professions are planned to interact with others in a template that might make the transition it'self end up being the template you want. If that makes any sense.

Minerunner whats the news on the rantok being craftable?

I believe the devs had plans to do this in early january, but never did.

The way Minerunner is slowing working toward breaking his NDA(be careful....lol), it seems like professions will mean something once again.

I think i know what MR is trying to say to us....theres going to be a new integration system methinks. Should be exciting.

I am suspecting fencer/pistoleer will be worked together is some way? All the possibilities....

I've been attempting simply to prepare you folks for the changes. I've not said anything that breaks my NDA. Though I'll admit I'm toeing the line in places.

I wouldn't go as far to say there will be integration of Ranged and Melee professions. It's more like an identifying of roles, each profession will have a specific role to play, some mesh well with others for some people, others for other people.

Far more definition of roles will mean giving up something, so be prepared, in life as in game everything good comes with a downside.

Oh about the Rantok, that has been dropped... though we will see some major weapon changes in the Combat Upgrade... nothing yet on new weapons specifically or craftable old ones.
