lol well if your pvping i wouldn't drop fencer for swordsman, swordsman is aweful in pvp without spending 10mil+on speed and accuracy tapes.



really i don't see the problem on this fencers are designed around lol level pve and pvp i take less damage in pvp now i'm master fencer master swords then i did when i was just master swords

huh? i think i know my fencer prof very well and have also decent gear but i am not able to scratch a NS elder !


i can tank her for hours true.


i can get get down every other type of sister.


but with the damage i deal with my fencer weapons a ns elder regen faster than i can do any harm to her.


show me a log that proves i am wrong

Fencers alone aren't all that great in high-end PvE, but if you want to be good in PvE, you need to take advantage of it's, well, advantages (i.e. uncapped defenses and nothing is TKA or Rifleman, the only two professions that can effectively hit you if you have the right template).
Here are the stats for my template (MP/MF)

Melee defense: +181
Ranged defense: +121
Dodge: +210
Defense Acuity: +56
Defense vs Blind: +80
Defense vs Intimidate: +20
Defense vs Posture Change: +70
Defense vs Dizzy: +80
Defense vs Knockdown: +100
Defense vs Stun: +40

PvE is easy for me and for groups I act as a better tank than even the hardened master TKAs, so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. It's all about taking advantage of potential... grab Pistoleer for PvE and Doc for PvP. But that's just my view on the profession...

Let me get this right...you are saying that in PvE the 125 Def Hard Cap is not in effect? Please cite, I'm not calling you a liar but that is pretty big news to me.

Again, it appears someone is posting while not even reading this page of the thread, let alone the whole thing. You may have spotted where I was called a Stacker? Ok, so my Dodge isn't 210 like yours, it's 115 but I've eaten dodge enhancing food ontop of that and it's made no difference. My Melee Defense isn't 181 it's 141 but I was under the impression that it was capped at 125, you may know different but I'd some proof. My character template is not a plain fencer. I am also a little tired of reading people suggesting I am wrong in my findings, even after I have posted Screen Shots and Logs, at least you have posted your template that could explain why you say different. Now could you go the extra few feet, solo a Protectorand screen shot all the times she misses, you evade or dodge. Here are some more of mine to show that I don't...

Fencers have poor damage output. Anyone who has played a swordsmen, or pikemen, or even the TKA that you mention knows thata fencer, even with a400 damage gaffi or 200 dmg vibroblade or300+ damage stun baton will do low damage against high-level mobs - so low in fact that unless you like falling asleep at the keyboard, you cannot viably use fencer skills to kill these mobs. I can do more than doublethe dps using a2h sword as a 1h sword with the same defenses against things likesuper battle droids right now. And, the point isn't that we don't do enough damage, the point is that we have these amazing defenses that are supposed to make up for our lesser damage but it's not working against high-level mobs. A fencer should have a place in a large group in an expert-level dungeon as a tank, but as is, any other melee prof can be as good a tank as a fencer.


I also agree that the reason our defense aren't working as well as we would like against very hard mobs is because they increased the accuracy of mobs on a sliding scale so that the highestlevel mobssuch as super battle droids have accuracy so high that they never miss.
