Thread: master fencer + master pistoleer > everything

while mixing range and melee is all well and good i think this problem reallt takes the cake. For one any one who want to be compotent cant be tka as they have no counter part. Also fencer/ riflemen, carbineers etcget left out too. Thirdly it takes a melee adavantage and gives it right back to range. Aint right just aint right. Dodge needs stack with all modifers or none.A riflemen /fencer should be able to avoid attacks nearly as well as fencer/pistoleer. Also cob needs only have effect when a melee weapon is in hand. if a player disequips the melee weapon cob should go to. Otherwise melee gets robbed of its usefulliness.i'm all for range/melee combinations just not when only certain ones are much highly favored over others or ones when the melee plays a next to useless role other than stealing a move and modifer.

you may be right as just a master pistoleer.


however, all master fencer/master pistoleers will change to their 1-handed weapon AND put on CoB if attacked by a melee opponent. and yes, you can attack while you dodge. so these are the possible scenarios: you fight a ranged guy, you pull out your pistol,dodge most of hisshotsWHILE you are attacking. you win. another scenario: you're fighting a melee opponent. you start withyour pistol and get a few hits off to begin with, switch to your 1-handed weapon when the opponent gets close, slap on CoB, and the opponent willalmost neverhit you. you win.


therefore, the only way to counter this would be taking up both master fencer and master pistoleer, and like i've said, this makes one (unless you count the swordsman/carbineer and pikeman/rifleman)template that will always win.

I'm going for it mainly because I've always played quick/fast characters in most game... Chun-Li//Vega/Ryu in Street Fighter, that pink robot in Virtual On, etc... Pistoleer and Fencer both fit that preference. They deal the least dmg out of any combat class there is, so I don't see what the big deal is?

wow! 4 stacking bleeds? i agree, that is insane! you have made me think..*ponders going up pistols*



i think i will go TKA some for the meditate, may be ill go pistols for the dodge...+210 dode has gotta be uber, combined with CoB and 60% kinetic ubese id bet you could pve any creature in the game solo almost and most of the npc's



if you went master pistols and master fencer you would get all that mitigation too vs melee AND ranged, but im not sure if the pistol mitigation only works while you ahve a pistol out.

on eclipse there is a rodian by the name of scorned....a master pistoleer, brawler, and fencer...he is a VERY good pvp guy...yet i have beaten him a time or 3. no rules on the duels...so warcry, intimidation, and bleeds were able to be used, aslo heals. this was the longest duel i have ever had....we both used warcry2 2x each. with me victorious...the pistoleer/fencer combo can be beaten.


granted i am a blademaster, master brawker, and almost master tka


just letting you know that they can be beaten...just gotta blind that guy and level the playing field

devs should make it so you can only get the bounses with that weapon for instance, there is pistol dodge and their is fencer dodge u dont get both in the same category, that should balance it out

ok i stopped playing like a month or so ago got relly bored but that is beside the point....... did the devs make it so that 1pnt to dodge is makes it __% to dodge the enemys attack and that is that,or is it done so that the more dodge you have the more each +1 is worth, another pnt would give more of a chance than just the one pnt from zero... if its like the first way the whole idea of going pistoleer fencer for stacking dodge is moot cause from what i remember the dodge block and counter where all had the same effectso if you had 50 dodge and 50counter it would be equivilent to 100 dodge or 100 counter or is counter and block broke so they are not as good as dodge (enlighten me)

Don't know what you been smoking but in every instance where I did CoB while meleeing and then switched to pistol CoB left me... soon as I equiped my pistol CoB poofed.

Hmmm did some testing on this with CoB in mind while using a pistol... It doesn't seem to poof as I noticed it doing before however it also does not last as long when you switch from melee to ranged. Hardly scientific evidence but something I will keep an eye on. But then again I only use my pistol when the bugger I am fighting tries to kite me.

ok goddamit, what is with everyone whining about fencer pistoleer! Teras Kasi is by FAAAR the profession that needs to be nerfed back to the stone age, you can use a total of 92 skill points, and be DEVASTATING in almost any situation, the KD is INSANE! And unnarmed hit 3 does the most damage to speed ratio of anything in the game!

as far as swordsman i used to be one, and i could take out 2 krayt dragons at once with mind bleeds! i never once complained about how we were bad in pvp, being able to do that was more than enough to make the prof worthwhile, on the other hand fencers are meant to be duelers, one of our titles is duelist for christsake we only get those uber dodge bonuse from going into pistol, a lot more points than 92! plz for all you whining band wagon jumping tkms that someone can actually beat you every so often please i have some advice for you
