You are right about the Armor heaviness thing. However, I think his point was thatwe should be finding weakpoints in armor. Its not like the armor dosnt have em. Look at Storm Trooper Armor. Look at the Black mesh sections near the arms and legs. The exact thing that makes Armor capable of doing the stunts above is what can make more of a hindrance than a life saver at times. If your wearing a suit of say, Composite, which is supposed to be very heavy (Id assume about 40 pounds or more) and your oppenent is wearing no armor but is very fast. If He getsyou in the backs of the Knees, under the Arm or in the neck, your as good as dead.

Yes all armor have weak areas that can be exploited. My point was that hitting such a small target while similarly armored is tough enough even with practice. Hits such a small target will similarly armored and that target is actively moving while other parts to trying to attack you is ALOT tougher. Compound that if your opponents is also a master of his/her profession. That example I posted earlier about the first public use of a "special attack" could not have been possible if the opponent had ANY form of armor in place. Even some 10 ounce leather would have stopped that drawcut.

Now if you're suggesting that wearing armor in this game should slow you down or that you should be speed bonuses as a melee for NOT wearing armor then you're talking about something altogether different. Would I forego armor for a speed and agility bonus? Nah, I've been hit with specials while unarmored and they tend to do ALOT of damage. I still remember last week when my ubese hit 0 fighting some Jantas. One of them hit me with a special through my CoB and my health plumeted. If it wasn't for my stimE's (master doctor /cheer) and an emergency PvP grade synthsteak/pikatta pie combo I might have been dead meat.

I said IF he landed a hit. It may be unrealistic, but my view of a fencer is lightly armored, low damage, and the ability to dodge at least 7 out of 10 hits. And about the heavy armor issue, between a unarmed and a armored duelist, the unarmored one would probably move faster. With 40+ pounds strapped to you, you wouldnt be moving quite as fast as you normally would. I would think that we Fencers would be armored, but lightly so. Maybe give the size and heaviness meaning. Just as an example, these are the armors divided into classes.

Light Armor includes; Malbari, Scouttrooper armor.(if they release it) Padded, RIS (It might be considered Medium, but it looks good on us) and maybeReb faction armor.

Medium armor includes; Bone, Ubese, BH armor, Tantel, Maybe Storm Trooper.

Heavy includes; Composite, Mandolorean, maybe some variations of the Faction armor. (Nova Trooper armor anyone?)
