That said i also have noticed the defence thing being rather poor. I sometimes group with a member of my alliance who is just coming into the heavy swordsman tree and i am starting,a little higher than her,into the fencer tree. We go get piket missions on dantooine. These things wipe their butts with me but hardly seem to touch her. I have a hard time against one, she will take on 3 and laugh. This really bothers me as i also am working on pistoleer, she has master doctor and some ranged weapon skills. I wear mabari armorweave and she wears a duster. I understand with the armor comes some encumberance but come on, what is the deal? Needless to say i find it very disheartening that as a fencer I can hardly handle one creature that most other players dont even take notice of.
I'd like to just note:
Range on VKs are still 3m, or a very close 4m. They say its been changed, but it hasn't. Only when useing a special skill like all of the other melee's can it reach that range, not standard attacks.
Accuracy bonuses are linked to an equipped weapon, therefore you can oinly gain the accuracy modifiers for a single profession at a time. IE: Master Fencers have an Accuracy of +150.
However, you will have the Melee Defense from every profession you received it from, all stacking together to go up against the accuracy of a single profession. Thereforetaking the bonuses from multiple professions is expected, and the only way to significant reduce your chances of being hit (not counting Dodge/CoB).
