I would have to agree wit that. stun composite armor.. for those that can afford it pretty much makes the stun baton obsolete... others have mentioned that as well...

TKA's think they are too good... also, they are over-rated. These guys arent that good, I know being an ex Master TK.

I have a 301dmg stun baton... and I literally OWN these fools. They do about 400dmg to me, by the time I incap them.

So... your choice. But take my word, these guys are not even close to fencer in PvP.

The truth of the matter is this:

If you want to kill jedis, and do roughly 0 dmg in pvp vs everything else, go with tka.

Unless you have sum magical DOT knucks or sum legendary venoms to make psns with, tka simply cannot cut through 90% armor.

Fencers can find dot weapons. Which atm, is just about the only thing that does dmg in pvp, if you are fighting a prepared opponent.

My suggestion would be to to pick up at least 4 0 3 0 in doctor, and find yourself a few mind dots, then pwn all the tka's u can get your hands on.

I ama fencer/doc, and I can own TKA any day of the week. with 88% kenetic armor, and intimidate 2, and they are stunned, I regen faster than they can put the dmg out. But if you put the same intance on me, I do around 100 dmg per hit ( against 40% stun with intim 2 and tka stunand with 434 dmg stun baton) to a TKM

With normal weapons I get owned by tkm's. I guess with a 450 stunner you have a better chance at winning... but my baton is max 171 (good slice). Big difference in damage there.

ok ive being both and i gave my nice 450 stun baton to my mate who is a Fencer doc , im tkm commando now , and it all depends on who you are fighting i can easyly beat a fencer and some fencer can beat me easy it is a mater of how much you know the profession you are playing , bot h professions are very good in PVP fencer has great defence but so does tkm and tkm toughness is a great thing , but all in all i liked tkm the most but fencer is great to ,

the main thing is do you want to PVP are PVE if it is just OVP id go Fencer as they have great defences but pve they dont do any real damage against the high level mobs , because of the lack of the AP weapons were as tkm has the AP1 VK

but having said that a fencer can easily beat a tkm with out a Acklay baton , i funny enough never pvped with my acklay baton and had not problems with out one but they do help

obviously with a 450 max d baton you will own them everytime.

the point is he prob wants a way to win without that weapon, its a more general look at fencer v tkm then your view (dmac)

keep the tkm perma intim, and keep CoB, keep him intimidated coz they hit so fast, take a synthsteak i think for tkm esp as they have such high damage, and just fight, try dizzy kd them.

i beat a tkm...he had 38%stun 68%base armor on him, it was stalemate for a long while until i experimented with moves a little, when i got him practicaly perma intim and blinded i used 1hmeleehit 3 (cho mok) on him constantly till his 3.5 k HAM was wasted to 1.3k and he chickened out (guildmate).

you gotta take synthsteak and keep him intimidated coz that will lower the tk damage alot and stop him hitting so fast, from then on its just a case of winning.

stun batons are not useless btw, maybe an armor hole but i average 250 damage in pvp with skull slash (dizzy) and i got a nice 700 damage hit in a pvp fight just earlier today, the average hit i get with that mve is 400 and i get 300 with scatter.

tk is a nice prof for damage but as i said, make em hit less (intim) take out there speed and have synthsteak and CoB macro and the damage they do will drop fast.

cho mok (1 hand 3) is a great move.

personally in pvp like most people have said it comes down to experiance and ur weaponry. I am and are intending to stay a master fencer. In the GCW 8/10 people u will meat will be either not fully buffed (including mind) and will probably not be overly ready for you. I am in a non pvp guild thing but we are allowed to go overt and i usually have to go solo but with my average stun baton against alot of opponents with no stun armor i win a surprisingly large ammount of times. BUT a good experianced TKM in a duel using all proper equipment(PSG,stun armor high dmg VK, sinthstake and fully buffed) i am sorry to say but i would lose. TKM is an easy and very fun proff to be... the 4th easyest proff to pvp with (jedi, riflemen,CM) all you have to do is unarmed KD2 make them flop on the ground then UH3 or mind hit. IMHO fencer is the mos fun proff to be and if you have master brawler it is very lethal..... so yeah its your choice and if you want to pvp be prepared to lay aside a little cash for an aklay weapon some nice armor lots of food ect... on the other hand if u wanna PVE im sorry but TKA is the wayy to go( u got swordsman so PVE should not be a problem)

Okay, as a TKM/Rifleman (and working on 0440 fencer - fencer has great defenses), I have fought many fencers. Fencers that have pistoleer stacking and other brawler skills are nasty, but once you land the stun and intim on them, their dodge isn't so good anymore. Stun batons don't do crap to me as far as dmg goes when i am centered and using TKM skills. I have 37% stun resist armor..... as do many people. One could argue that many people have 80% ish kinetic resists...... but tkms hit harder and can target the mind only (as many have said). Basically, a tkm is going to be able to keep someone flopping on their backs better than a fencer because we have kd and lunge.... fencers only have a lunge, plus we don't stay down long because of defense acuity. When it comes down to it, people that know what they are doing in pvp... a fencer vs tka fight will be very close, but I beleive the tkm will win in the end. (plus the +550 to my ham from powerboost helps too )

Okay, thats my two cents.....

IMHO A pure TKM fighting a Fencer is completely screwed if the fencer is wearing godly 90% Kinetic armor. Sure, the TK has AP1, but I mean, come on, after the Melee Mitigation 3 cuts the crap out of their max dmg and then it filters through a 90% reduction, they're left in the double digits, it's crazy. For the longest I was so pleased with TKM till that happened to me, completely boggled my mind that I could not do hardly anything to this guy. It takes a lot more money and contacts to get uber Stun protection as good as 90% Kinetic armor, so I'm pretty sure when it comes down to it, with both people fully experienced in their professions and armed to the teeth in the best equipment in the galaxy, it MIGHT be a stalemate, but only because the TKM went through more trouble preparing for stun and kinetic (which we can freely switch in between given the circumstances at the moment), not to mention paid more.

I personally have taken out many a TKA and i have a master smuggler/master fencer/ nov med template.....but i kinda cheese it because i have a good mind poison DOT gaffi stick ...and my stun baton's max dmg is 214 or 216.

What I use to beat a tkm has worked for me nearly 99% of the time.

COB

Warcry2

Intimidate2

Blind, dizzy

Once you have your COB and have your opponent blind and dizzy you will be very hard to hit. When you get the tkm dizzied use lunge 1 or lunge 2 onthem until they get kd and just spam dizzy or spin attack 2 on the tkm. Always keep the dizzy on them and when they stand up alternate between lunge1, (opponent kd), dizzy, dizzy, etc... and lunge2 (opponent kd) dizzy, dizzy, etc.... so a common fight will look like this:

blind

dizzy

dizzy

dizzy

(state effects on opponent)

lunge1 (forces them to kneel and when they stand up they kd themselves)

(while opponent in on the ground)

dizzy

dizzy, etc....

(when he stands up finally)

lunge2 (opponents is kd)

dizzy

dizzy

dizzy

etc.... wash and repeat

If you do this right you have them kd/dizzy the whole time with no chance to recover. I've also used this on a couple jedi and have beaten 2-5 that i've dueled for fun

hope this help

By the way as a fencer and in pvp ive noticed that you will get more damage in with the VB than with your gaffi considering the aP rating... and if you can get one with a vibro motor and a nice damage slice thats awesome
