It does have a lot to do with weight, however the mechanisms that maintain the blade also have a lot to do with it. The blade has no weight, but an effect the blade createsis a gyroscopic force (think about holding a short wooden stick and having it twist your wrist in a figure eight pattern)over the weapon. This creates the illusion of weight, as well as making it very difficult to wield. It requires great discipline to use that a fencer would not be able to attain.

btw, soemone mentioned the length of a lightsaber is controlled by the force? Not true. Its the cyrstals inside of the saber, thats why the jedi have to hit a button to lengthen the blades in the books....not use the force.

lol in the game guide there was a bothan with a 1h lightsaber thats what made me a fencer, then i found out i get a black stick after workin to novice
