Thread: Fencer/doctor?

Fencer/Doctor here even though I have a hate for doctors in general. I've always seen myself as the group "cleric" until I realized that there are no groups in SWG...well solo groups.

Fencer/Doctor is great fun to play though. You never have to worry about looking for a buff. In PvP you can cure intimidate, stun, and dizzy states. Many a time have I cured a dizzy right when a TK or creature manages to knock me down only to have me get right back up. Stun states get us killed yet I can cure that right off too. In duels against other melee or non-mind attacking professions there's nothing more frusterating to them than watching me get down to 100 health only to have it healed in one shot from a stimD.

Downsides: You'll have to keep the Master Fencer tag up at all times and make your character unsearchable unless you plan on getting alot ofrandom /tell's from people asking for buffs or worse...jedi asking for revives. Some are even so rude as to tip you out of the blue and demand buffs. Fencer is great until you try and take on some higher content PvE mobs. Its there and against stun layered opponents that you real lack of damage capabilities become apparent.

All in all I still have alot of fun and more importantly self reliance as a fencer/doctor.

p.s.- Just buy your buff packs from another doctor. Hunting down the correct resources with the correct stats and buying themcan bea major hassle...trust me on that one.

p.s.- You can master Doctor and have enough points left over to master Fencer and still take up a novice profession like "scout" or "artisan" to harvest or survey needed materials.

You CAN NOT master Combat Medic AND master Fencer. Combat Medic requires the complete tree of ranged support. After mastering Combat Medic you have enough points to master one ranged profession and have 4 points left over. The people you see that are a melee profession and a CM are 4/0/0/4 dabblers.

depends on your playstyle.

I am master fencer 3004 tka and 4040 doc... as far as defensive ability goes, im the last one to die in raids. im damn hard to kill, damn hard. however since im a fencer and everyone's wearing psg + stun comp, i can't deal **edit** for dmg. luckily i have a bunch of really good dot weaps. so basically my role is this. i am usually one of the first to go in because im so hard to hit and i can heal all states/dots, i usually run towards the enemy, and then start dropping my dots on them and adding states to them. then i run back towards my group where my guild's heavy hitters are waiting, aka speed capped swordsmen, pikemen with sick dots, rifleman, carbineers pistoleers and tka. so at this point i drag anyone whos crazy enough to follow me towards the jaws of death, and then i go into healer mode and i keep an eye on the states and dots on all my group members, and keep them alive while they dismantle the opponent. when im properly fed, i get hit probably 1 time in 10 shots. its pretty rediculous actually.
