I was just wondering if a Fencer/Doctor combination would be good, I'm new to the entire medic profession so I'm not sure what kinda abilities they get or what they do. Just wondering if that's a good combo or if I should go with like combat medic instead.

I liked having fencer/doctor and being able to play defensively. Combat medic seems to work better with swordsman (offensive).

I am a master doctor/master fencer and I am happy with the combination. This only leaves enough skill points to pick up another novice plus one skill box... which I alternate between scout and artisan:
Artisan to survey for resources to make meds...
Scout to hunt for resources to make meds...
This way you can make a nice self-sufficient living if making money is your thing. It's nice to be able to buff yourself and go rancor hunting, most caves/dungeons, whatever -- a lot you can do by yourself if you have to. If you get some nice clothes with more melee defense/state mods you don't even need armor most of the time... just have Center of Being looping.
As far as PvP goes with this template I couldn't say... I haven't tried it yet.

A friend of mine and former guildmate was master fencer and master doctor, and he got so good that he was notorious on my server in PvP.
However, this was with a bugged acklay baton (it was taken away later) and before scatterhit was changed.

I am fencer, 4000 tka, 4340 doc... It makes a great PVP template. I can heal my own wounds, powerboost and Force of Will with 4000 tka. I'm also one of the healers in PVP and I can do everything but rez, which once someone dies in PVP, you can't really rez them because then they won't have buffs and won't be any good...
Anywho, its an awesome combo, not as offensive for PVE, but great for a support PVP class with lots of defense. If you get a nice stun baton, you can be good with offense too.

with debugged scatterhit, a fencer can barely scratch someone with psg+stun armor...and tk are VERY HARD even unarmored, if they do intimidate...id say no fencer can beat a good tk...

Oh! This is the post i was looking for!!! Currently, I am a master rifleman and master doc twi'lek. Master rifleman is a good profession, but due to the max mind I havebecauseof my species, my mind is always drained. This is with a master dancer/musician mind buff, canape, and brandy.
I want the defences that a fencer has so that I can assist more on the battlefield. But my concern is, when I'am forced to fight, will I be in the same boat I'm in with rifleman? Will my mind get completely drained using specials? Or, have I just not learned how to play in pvp?
Thanks,
~Ocasri~
p.s. sorry squill if I'm hijacking your post, i just thought this was a good place to post my question

I really like fencer/doctor..if you have your heals set up on hotkeys or have a good heal macro you can heal off any state people throw at you in seconds..very helpful for pvp.

I like this combo, but I have found it a lot more defensive than offensive. I am usually found healing people and swatting away Rebels, not killing, just slapping with my nightstick, on the battlefield. This combo really sucks for PvE, though. I could barely scratch anything in the Geo Caves.

The key could be to use DOTs...

but remember if you're a doctor you can heal intim. Knockdown and bonking them with a couple mind dot janta knives helps a ton. But yeah you do have a point, tk's are real tough to take down.
for me at least, pretty much anything/doctor is hard..they can heal away your mind dots, dont stay kd'ed very long and can heal damage.

Can you still stack poison dots from different weapons? If this is still in, I'm so buying 10 janta knifes and putting a 1000 tick mind poison on someone
