yah much better than pikes in PVP at least.
My friend has a 1400 dmg pike and i got a 290-390 gaffi
we were both dueling he had armour I didnot.
I incapped him first
btw we were both master doctors so i was healing and he was too

Fencer is waaaaay better, you can put just as many dots on people as a pikeman and with a good stun baton you'll wreck. My stun baton is 329-422 dmg and i can get a 1k tick of poison on them... i like it to put states on too, when im dueling a pikeman i just blind them right away and it really hurts them sticking on dots because of accuracy.

a fencer with stacked defences destroyed me in a duel the other day
hes weapon was 1/4 of the power of mine, 250stun baton vs 1k dmg lva
he blinded me, intimidate me stun, and even mee with +15 in acuracy and foods, i was hitting him 1/3 of the times for less than 200dmg, while he was swinging at me for 300 dmg

Ive been pvping with my template for a LONG time, 4400 fencer, 3040 doc, master pikeman. To answer your question, pikes are better than fencer for PVP because good DoT pikes are alot more common than good DoT fencer weapons. As ar as straight dmage go, both a pretty worthless. Steak, intim and a PSG destroys a fencers damage output, and even with a 1k+ lva, you wont do much damage at all to an opponent whos in armor.
I suggest mastering pikeman and using 4400 fencer for its defence. With that setup i very rarely, if ever, get KD'd. Keep in mind this is a template specifically made for dueling. Its not that good against jedi, and sucks in big pvp. But with the right pikes, there is no better dueling template. Before i dropped it, my record in duels was about 400 and 1 (the 1 i lost due to my own stupidity)

Actually alot of NS have 100% kinetic and electricity resists making it impossible for a pikeman to kill them.

and we do have dots, i have not bought a single dot, i looted them all from ns solo

Just have both, I'm master pike, master fencer & I'm invincible in PvE, it's a lot of fun for PvP too
