Thread: Is fencer better than pikeman?

I just wanted to know, is fencer better than pikeman? I like pikeman, it is cool, but I have already mastered fencer and don't wanna give it up for pikeman, if pikeman is not better. I am talking defence, speed and damage. thanks all!

Harder to cap skill pts, and all , but otherwise , as a ex-fencer, i loved it , but i do admit pike with a good pike is deadly v. Jedi, now im packming a 821 max pike and I love it, if you want to pve, ide say pikeman.

One thing to bear in mind is DOTs, pikey's have lots and lots of them, at least until CU

fencer has more defenses
pikeman has the state effects (nice KDs and what not) and they have DoTs so that equates to dmg (they arent the best dmg dealers persay, that was left for Swordsman)

I've never really understood why people allways say "pikes have dots" They don't. Those who go loot hunting or have millions to spend on looted dot weapons have dots.

there are more pikes that have DoTs on them than there are fencer weapons or swordsman weapons or VKs or ne thing

In the CURB fencer will have a better offebse than pike, but pike will have the defence

Well the most common polearm with a DoT is the NS lance with the base DoT which is as good as useless. Truly useful DoT weapons are much harder to come by.

Actually alot of NS have 100% kinetic and electricity resists making it impossible for a pikeman to kill them.

Only Elder's are immune to kinetic.
