I am a fencer and am part of the top PvP guild on bloodfin and have seen many of the top players fight. Currently a fencer can "own" any noobie player (by this i mean anybody not using synthsteak (out of game and cant remember how to spell it) a full stun suit and Imperial PSG's) the problem that fencers have is when they come face to face with a) a well prepared player b) another fencer.


For (a) you have to basically just spam scatterhit2 (yes i know, boring) with your acklay stun baton till they fall. For situation (b) its when it goes onto a different level. You may as well put your stun baton into storage as you are not going to use it. The only thing you can do is bring out the dot weapons. A good tactic is too have several mind poison/mind fire weapons on a macro to switch between them and just stack the dots. Of course everyone has doc in their template so those dots arn't going to last long but you can always try using a manual approach that’s gets around peoples auto heal macros. You hit them with your knife and then as soon as it sticks you hit them with a dizzy (or another state) when the macro heals it'll remove the dizzy but your dot will stay and tick. This is just my two cents on how to pvp and I hope some people find it useful.

Ah, the state of PVP today. So, anybody been in a duel lately where the whole goal is to stick your dots and then a dizzy/kd or stick your dots and then warcry? Good times. Doing damage as a fencer isn't really much of an issue - it's dealing with dots now. Hehe, will pikes become the new FOTM? Interesting to see how games morph. The CB will change all this again I'm sure.

I agree we need more weapons but dont really see the need for weapons with dots just a bigger variety would be nice , i find it no trouble at all dealing with another player with the right combo of foods and drink even taking out a fencer/doc who is a zabrak and has equalise isnt a problem only real worry is the combat medic cos they are not affected by the pvp damage reduction on thier mind poisons which sux

wait are u calling pikemen good in pvp lol... with my 150-670 lva with mind fire (i killed ns for 3 mounths) i do about 50-75 dmg. DoTs is the only way pikemen stand a chance. at least withfencer guys u dont have to pay 20mil to be good or kill the same thing for 3 strate mounths.

fencer no dot weapons ?



  • Stone knives ( dant janta/mokk/... missions and caves )

  • Janta knives ( same)

  • graf batons( tusken fort)

  • jabba reward knive ( jabs)

fencer job in pvp



  • fencer uses intim , cob & blind to make the high damage user who hase bad mods on his weapons to not hit u and take him down slowly

stun baton no good ?



  • try to use a stun baton with HIGH min damage wich isn't scruwed by dam mitigration , their are some 300/300 looted stun batons out their wich are looted from ... ( they don't want to tell me so i don't know myselve )

Good point about having a high min damage.


I was told and I don't know how much truth is in this but one of the good fencers on my server sadi to me when telling him I had a 415 max stun baton he said that good but get a stun b aton with a high min doesn't have to have ahigh max as when fighting melee use you high min baton when fighting ranged use you 415 stun baton. I don't understand this I don't know if it is a think to do with min damage/melee class and vise versa or that has anyone else heard about this?

I gotta put my 2cents in here. Im Master Fencer/Master Smuggler/0044Pistol and i must say i am a bad mofo in the pvp arena. The only thing that can take me down is a CM. Some might be thinking "well you have an uber baton and since your pistol you have a geo." yes i have a geo but im not good enough with it to use it in PvP,its mainly for them kiters. and NO i dont have an uber ackaly baton. mine is 1.5 and around 200max dmg with powerup.I agree we could use another Ap1 wep but other than that it comes down to one thing...TACTICS.

I dont even think pikeman should be mentioned in this thread. First of all , NS energy lance is the most difficult to loot weapon in the game, as only one person, avka min drops the parts and she only spawns once a day. Pike dot lances(ns lances not energy) are also hard to get good ones. Further more, pikeman dmg out put is even worse than a fencer going up againsta dude with stun armor and a psg. Fencer has not much to complain about in pvp right now. It costs 92 sp, which means u can always get another prof to help you out in dealing damage.

what the **edit** are you talking about, im a master and i have a DoT gaffi, decent damage and it does a 169 health poison a tick, 6k uses left 62% potency, ticks for 2 min. that plus scatter hit 2 = pwns

The game has evolved into an equipment based game now, the days of "man hes got a few more skills than me" are long gone, take the time to load up and prepare, or face the consequences,,,,,,

i think pvp has progressed to the point where melee is has too much of a focus.


i'm a master fencer/master pistoleer/rogue/tka 4300, synthsteak and psg doesn't really effect me becuase the people who uses that are melee/doc templates. I seriously think that people too often are looking for a one win button.


with my template i've beaten a lot of top pvp'ers on my server, save for light/dark jedi knights.


so they've eaten synthsteak and got a psg?I take out yme geo pistol, burst run and hit last ditch, this allows me to wear down their psg and synthsteak because synthsteak can only absorb about 40 hits, and psg will wear down faster than two condoms on a **edit**. worried about ham cost of last ditch? hell no, i'm buffed up to wear my special attacks don't even cost ham. so after about fifty shots (which is about a minute) you'll have worn down their dam buffs, run in and melee. at this point your opponent should be stun, which significantly cuts down on thier defenses, then blind, dizzy, lunge (fencers don't get kd), scatterhit till their minds drop.


Ok what do you do when you're fighting melee/doc? kiting them till they run out of stimpacks, chances are docs only have one pack of stims out, which is usually about 20 uses, takes a while but once doc runs out of stimpacks, he'll be a dead doc, because you can't take items out of a crate in the middle of combat.


when fighting rifleman/cm, it's a little trickier but with scatter hit2 you should be able to melee them till they drop, i'm always loaded on 2 brandies and 2 glazed glucosed, couple that with dancer and musician buffs cm and rifleman shouldn't be able to take you down. your mind taking too much of a beating? take a moun gold.


the only trouble you'll ever have is with a minddot pvp'er, now the only weapons i've seen with minddots are melees, so kite them to death.


Note this only works with my template, as you can see i'm not standing in one spot spamming one special over and over. it's all about being prepared and know how to counter your opponents, match your strengths to his weakness and you'll win.


now no one is ever just one profession, they're a combination of other professions, hence templates, now if it was just one profession versus the other, than i believe the only way a fencer would lose would be to kiting ranged,.


Now you have 250 skill points use them wisely if you pvp, if you want to pve use them another way. fencer is not effective at high end pve, but great in pvp.


learn your template, learn your opponents template. as much as pvp is broken right now, it still does requires some brains to win.

Admiral your wrong about doc/fencer. Doc/fencer owns everything except pikeman if you know how to pvp right. And also fencer has good dots. Just got to get lucky at the tusken fort, mokk stronghold or janta cave. Those places drop 1h dot weapons allot.
