Pretty much it depends what you are doing...

High lvl PVE ur gonna wanna get composite, prob 80% kinetic (except for geo cave, that = stun armor)

mid+lowlvl PVE/unbuffed ur gonna want ubese 70% kinetic

It also depends if u have stuff tanking up front and dont' really have to worry about getting hit, or r u in the geo cave where stuff can sneak up on u and get ya.

and pvp is where it gets tricky...

ur gonna want stun armor and kinetic, and maybe some energy, and of course composite, and ur gonna wanna be able to switch them quickly

As for ham costs it personal preference really, are u gonna be able to wear armor with 1k ham costs and get enough mind stats from food/drugs/entertainers, or r u only gonna take 2 brandy?

A lot of people will try and get a full suit wiht encumbrance slices and another 1 all resists slices. Then u can use which ever 1 fits the situation. I personally like to mix and match stuff, between heavy duty protection and light weight most of the time in pve.

I like to stay organized so i would suggest color cordinate stuff. ie 80% kin = black , stun = red etc

as for energy comp, would it be better for this profession to have 80%Energy/67%base/high ham or 80%energy/60%base/low HAM?

What about some other ranged professions you can think of?

The only reason I use energy comp is the corvette, which means I don't really care about other damage types, so I'd go for the low ham option.

73% or higher ubese will work wonders for kinetic damage (Melee opponents and creature attacks) so that can be good in either pve or pvp. plus with ubese low encumbrance the full suit can almost be worn

for pvp ranged opponents id use adv comp with 35% stun at least, 80% kinetic, 70% base

make sure u have buffs, food, and drinks for pvp

i have been going without armor, and doing pretty good, for pvp i wear only the top half, no buffs and pop some action brandy before the fight, keep stims, drugs and vercupti ready, but i usually finish them before they finish me. this is great one on one or even 2 on 1, but more than that i am usually running for my life or heading to the cloners.

I wear no armor.....................but as a Master Doctor/Master Rifleman the combined mind costs drain too much.

2 brandies and 3 canapes make me damn near immortal..........lol.

you dont really have to wear armor for pve if your master fencer this is true

ive soloed large imperial bases using nothing but brandy, canape, muon (last ditch effort), stims, and center of being

pvp is far greater matter. depending on how low skill the person is you might not have to wear armor, you could wear some clothes to make ur fencer look pimp. i wear adv padded and some mixtures of clothing when doing easy pvp fights
