Personaly, I hate ranged but.... to be very effective rifleman right now is the GOD amoungs raned atm. They got some darn good aim an killer mind hits. Although at a great cost make sure you got TKA power boost as its an incredible help. Honestly if your looking for a ranged/melee combat thats the best option at the moment.

yet another correction, melee/ranged def will not be capped, secondary (block, dodge, counter) will be.

I'm using a Master Swordsman, Master Brawler, 0304 TKA (defs), 4400 Fencer (defs) strategy at the minute. It is easily the strongest possible strat vs. other melee players, and with 83% comp and my alt's master doc/musician buffs you can be nearly unkillable.


HOWEVER... I have no ranged mitigation at all (obviously) and thus Master Rifleman with jawa ion's can tear me apart really fast. After the warcry2 nerf master brawler might be something to give up.. but if i picked up rifleman i'd have to complete drop the TKA defs... :<


ON the subject the sort of swordsman I play can kill both a TKA and a fencer at once, it's just extremely vulnerable to those pesky rifleman. And combat medics, but everybody is vulnerable to those suckers.

Will all be adjusted or cap'd so that pistoleer an fencer defences in primary an secondary will not stack. Thus you only get the benfits of the weapon your currently carrying only! Its already been stated by dev's in publish 7 this will go into effect. An more adjustments in publish 8 to come most likely.



Where do you get that from? Its not in the initial IT post. The initial IT post is, unfortunately, quite vague but definitely makes no mention of the weapon equipped affecting defensive modifiers.

As far as I am aware that question was answered, and it makes no difference what weapon you have equipped. I am not 100% sure where I read that it might have been on TC forum. I knowit makes no difference at this moment. No where in the publish notes did I read it would change.

Dodge stacking fencers can beat TKAs, its pretty hard work for a non-dodge stacking fencer to beat a TKA unless they managed to get hold of good acklay enhanced weapons. With Warcry the way it currently is, the fights are pretty much based on who gets the first warcry to stick.But at leastthey are fixing it next patch.

haha listen to yerself boasting about tka. its clearly evident that either all other professions are underpowered or tka is way overpowered. i guess itll go back to the days where some half ass tka person with no other abilities will just kd dizzy everyone and whip ass.


Skill has nothing to do with this my friend. the only reason people stack defense mods is because of dumb bandwagon professions like tka.


maybe try something different... but oh wait ..then youd be like master fencers getting getting whipped by some half leveled tka.


ive been master fencer since the beginning along with brawler and 0004 tka .. and am a wookie .. still couldnt beat tka.


now i have an uber baton and picked up pistol 4/0/3/4 and at least can win most of the time.



stop crying tka and get some different profession or live with it.

Your issue is wookiees' lack of armor. Fencer vibroblade mods are 1/4 that of VK's. So, if you ever were anything but a wookiee, wear your armor and you're fine vs. TKAs.

I'm tkm and blademaster and i use TKM over fencer, I tend to do more damage against this way and its just much eaiser because TKM's unarmed hit 3 is much better than one-hand hit 3 although i think most fencers use scatterhit 2 because you can hit mind .. but this is just me

With my fencer toon I never pvp without my 80% kinetic comp on and as I'm also a master doc on that character kd/dizzy isn't too much of a problem for me. Because of my armour and healstate abilityI actually look forward to meeting tkms in pvp as they often make easy faction points - not sure if the whole headhit ignoring armour issue has been fixed but I've not seen it in action for some time.
