I kind of understand master fencers indifference to the bleed nerfing, but if you are NOT a master fencer, bleeds are a big help.
Currently, i am 1-4-1-2, I don't get to play as often as I used to, so it has been taking a long time to level.
I worked on the footwork line, hoping that it would be worth it to get the second bleed.
It was for a couple of days
Now it's junk.
I went from a 1300+ bleed to a 170-300 bleed.
If your going to reduce the damage fine, but not by such a huge amount.
I would have been ok with a 50% reduction.
Oh, and I tried bleed1, it ticked for 20.
20? **edit** is that, put it down in the one hand brawler line, and move the knock down to #2 in footwork.
Bleed1 with that damage is not as good a reward as KD.

Serenity now, serenity now.

To go along with what you said above, I'd really like to see MORE Dodging, Parrying, and Thrusting. I think we're treated too much like Mace-style fighters, and not enough like Fencers, as we're "intended" to be.

Love the Fencer.. still do.. but, bleeds ARE truly useless now, and I WAS using them at master level... Fighting Nightsisters can be dicey, even when the Bleeds worked like they did before publish 6... no point in bleeding anything now at all, seems a waste of time from Durni to Krayt... Add inour tworedundant Area blinds, and we have 3 - 4 specials that don't seem to be worth getting at all anymore... and I am a pure fencer, no complimentary combat skills at all.
But I will still continue to dodge, parry and thrust =)
And hope that things get better...
Hope is good.

Ahh, I see someone is taking initiative
Im no good with the technical aspect of things, but the lack of a serious fencing weapon still bothers me.
The Graf Baton and Stun Baton just dont do it for me. With the Two-Hand swordsman getting a new weapon, I feel that it be nice to get one ourselves.
Agreed. I'm taking initiative because I've wanted to be the Fencer Corr. since they started talking about need Corrs. at the end of Beta.. the job means alot to me, and the proffession means even more. I agree, we do need an actual "Foil"-type Fencer weapon.

Lol, I don't want to see anyone nerfed. I was just trying to make the point that these changes have almost no effect on some combat professions (e.g. TKA) and a major negative impact on others (e.g. swordsman). I don't see how the general combat balancing is going to solve these inequities. The professions that lost damage dealing capacity and flexibilityby this change are going to need profession specific enhancements to fix the problem.
I used bleeds all the time when fighting multiple mobs (sometimes up to 8 at time) when I was harvesting resources for my doctor. I can no longer do this. Our bleeds also targeted the health pool which is great for fighting in groups in PVE since most generic attacks hit the health pool more than others.
Am I total gimp now? Hell no.
Did I useloose some very useful tools from my arsenal? Hell yes.
Am Iess effective nowthan I was before the patch? Yes.
Do I think we deserve some profession specific compensation (i.e. new/improved skills)? Yes.

Ok, I have been grinding up the fencer tree for a couple weeks now. Not really rushing it, just enjoying it. Never really paid too much attention to the damage my bleeds did, just added it into my status attack macro I use when I initially attack a critter.
I am a Master Brawler, Fencer 0/4/3/3, CH 4/4/1/3, novice Medic. My final template will be Master Brawler/Master Fencer/Master CH.
I think my only gripe thus far is how fast I can incap myself because of my mind when I spam specials during combat, unless I am pounding down foods/drugs to keep my mind up.
Now mind you, I am in no way complaining about how fast I attack. lol I love it!
Maybe make it so that our mind costs dont incap us, or give us something similar to the TK self buff to help out in that aspect.
And of course, on the "I want one cause he got one" bandwagon, maybe a new toy to play with, like a rapier, that has the same AP properties as a T21. Maybe toss the certification in for it up the tree a bit, or make it a quest type item that is difficult to get?
Just my two cents worth.

I beleive this is the point that needs to be made to the developers more than just the fact that "hey you nerfed us!"

I think the change to bleeds is a big deal because it makes 2 of our specials useless without any new or improved specials/skills to compensate. Whether you use them or not is irrelevant; it is a net loss for the profession. It is also important to note the these changes do not affect all combat professions equally, e.g TKA has no bleeds so they are now stronger than ever (relatively speaking), swordsmen who had the best bleeds are weakened the most.

I agree with this as well, to a degree. To be fair, I agree that the TKA is too powerful as it is, but on the other hand, we can't just go crying nerf on them just because we got the short end of the stick. Our day will come, Fencers, just hold it together.
