Dantooine is the place to go for leveling. I have hit more materies there than anywhere else. My "secret" is piket plains walker lairs- for me, they give 3800 exp per kill. I know this isn't the highest number (huurtons give 4k or more sometimes), but at the piket lairs THREE pikets spawn in every cycle as opposed to TWO huurtons or quenkers.

3800 exp times a possibility of NINE creatures is a bit more exp per-lairthan 4000 exp times SIX creatures.

obviously, this is not including babies, which piss me off because i get no exp for their dumb and underaged asses.

good luck leveling.

This guy knows what he's talking about Pikets Give around 4k per if your grouped! 9x4 + lair = Around 40k per lair

Huurtons you said give 4.5? I'm guessing that with the fellowship bonus, 4.5x6 + lair= Around 30k per lair

Rough Figures People, Rough Figured! Piket walker lair's missions also give 9k cash per mission which is great cash, for a young fencer!

There's some pretty good tips here, but one thing that's not been mentioned is the defense of a fencer. I never wanted to become a fencer. In fact, It was one of the last things on my list that I considered becoming next to image designer, chef and polotician. When my holo told me to master fencer, I thought NOOOOooooooooo!!!!!!! Then after being one for about a week, I realized compared to my master pistoleer skills, the defense of fencers are incredible. mobs miss me so much that the only thing I need to watch is my specials cost, because that was what normally got me killed. Once I started getting buffed and/or using only foods that boosted my strength, quickness and focus, which either one will reduce your specials cost to nearlyzerodepending on what weapoon you use, I have only died 2 times in the past couple of weekswhen using my fencer skills. One time was because I didn't keep track of my muon time and it faded in the middle of a tough fight and there I was dead at the feet of 3 kunga's that conned red to me. I was 1-4-2-3 then.

Now since i've become master, Idon't get hit very often and when I do it'sfor so little damage that I don't even have to heal it most of the time or if I'm buffed it's just a small scratch thatneeds a little cold water run on it and the bleeding stops...hehe

so basically what I'm saying is that themelee defense mitigation and def vs **** mods willallow you to solo some pretty toughenemies in larger groups.

for the purpose of this thread though, since we are talking about novices or middle of the road fencers, I do recommend savage quenkers for the following reasons.

They are very very very easy to kill with minimal risk to you (I don't think they death blow...could be wrong...I've never died by one).Their attacks are not as strong as pikets and other dantooine critters when they do happen to hit you. THey miss you alot. They are slow. you get 3.5 - 4k xp per creature (normally 6 per lair). The lair will give you 4 - 5k xp. They pay3.3 - 6.9k per mission depending on your level and whether its savages or justquenkers. there's never more than 2 spawned from the lair at a time providing you don't keep tapping the lair too much. You can easily take 2 on with no problem. They give the best xp in the shortest amount of time than any mob I'vefought. in the timeit takes you to kill piketson dantooine or baz nitches on dath, youcan dodouble (maybe triple)that in quenker missions. when I was a 1-2-1-2 fencer I could do 2 missions in less than 10 minutes. I used muon gold and ryshake/breath of heaven combinations. in order to benefit from the full 10 minute muon, I had to make sure both missions were in the same direction and I had to take out the first 2 quenkersat the first mission before I popped the muon so it would last long enough for me to get to the next mission and finish it.

with the muon that gives +500 to mind, focus, willpower....that gave me theability to not be concerned with my mindbar at all in battle.

(the following stats are dependant on the skill of the chef and/or the quality of materials available on your server...so much props to Carravaggio on ahazi server for these foods.)

With the ryschake giving me +600 something to strength, quickness and focus for about 7 minutes....along with the breath of heaven that gave me +400 something for 9 minutesto the same stats. I was basically buffingthe stats thatmade all my specials cost zero or if I used my stun baton, I was spending 1 - 7 pts of mind if I only used1 ryschake, but my willpower was high enough that it regeneratedfaster than I couldget 2 hits in.

NOTE: Iused a stun baton90% of the time and it had 1.9 speedwithclose to 200 damage, so my attacks came very fast and I hada +5 one-handed speed skill tape attached since I had one handed 1 of the brawler tree (so that helped).

My template was to take the quenkers early on to gain my footwork line. Then at a point I was findingquenkers too easy so I decided to head to thekunga or janta caves (which I leveled 30% of my pistoleer skills). they give a little over 5k for each red con, about 4.4k for yellow cons, 3.8k for white and so on down the line. I never saw any that conned less than white.75% of the ones in the cave conned red or yellow to me. Theres close to 60 or morenpc's in thecave with 2 voritors at the end of the cave (but they won't bother you long as you don'twake them up). Withaverage xp of 3k per npc (but some will give minimum 5k), thats over150k in less than an hour. You can do the whole cave in less than an hour if your buffed. downside is that they can instantincapp and slay you in one hit from their specials if they land, which most of the time they don't and the cave is on a 1 hour respawn. Plus you don't get any credits from them and the only drops are very weak DOT stone knives and reinforcedcombat staffs. the debris piles andmag seal containers do have skill tapes, small amounts of cash and some other odds and ends though.

Now I would hit this cave every once in a while, but at least1 times everythime I played....sometimes it would be others there so you won't be able to clear the whole cave every time.....most of the time it's empty (again, server dependant).

Now for those who think npc's are too hard....for any brawler class, they are fairly easy as long as you blind, dizzy, stun or KD them or all of the above. Bleeds help but are not necessary. The key is speed and landing all your specials. The best combo on npc's that I've witnessed it dizzy them and lunge hit 1 or 2.....this makes them fall everytime they try to get up and they can't hit you.....plus you get double damage when they are down. it is recommended that you have at least your blind or dizzy AOE attack. often you will find that you will be surrounded by 5 of them at a time. NO problem, blind them is the most important. That combined with your defense skills and they will miss you a whole lot. Just don't take on more than 2 red cons at once at lower fencer levels (unless your feeling bold ), they will surely get you with a back cracker or knee crusher specials or something to that effect. They both are capable of doing 2k damage to you. I got hit with a 3800 knee crusher one time with no armor so I took the full damage

Last thing, Armor is ok to wear if you have ubese or any kind of high kinetic resist but doesn't put a strain on you secondary stats to where it makes your specials cost more than normal. I have never ever used ubese. I went straight from bone to composite and have worn nothing else but composite. As a fencer, I find that I don't even need my armor though, only time I wear it is when I'm fighting medium armored opponents because I know that the fight will be longer and I don't want to risk taking a huge blow.....plus all my 1 hand skill mods are on my armor. Also, I never wear a full suit of composite. I wear everything except the helmet (gotta keep that mind free), pants (my BE pants are much more important to my defense and healing) and gloves (I usually do wear them, but not since I've been fencer). My total HAM cost on what I do wear is about 300....but is really nothing when I'm buffed.

summary:

1. get buffed or use foods (new chef changes may make foods difficult to combine just right)

2. do Quenker missions on dantooine

3. Savage quenkers once you feel like you can take'em

maybe try the npc's (aakuan's on talus are easier than kunga's and still give great xp, although they hit more often than kungas do...riding bantha is most of the time a garaunteed death for you )

4. once you get the stronger specials, go to dath and do baz nitch missions (11k per mission, a little harder to kill, only recommended when you can take multiple red cons to be on the safe side....gaping spiders and other dath critters are a bit annoying when they spawn 2 and 3 lairs around your mission point and gotta fight through them). There will be a point when anything on dantooine will be too easy (not including the force sensitives), so you should move on if you want the best xp gains.

other things to consider:

Armor is optional as long as you already have some of the defense mods and/or some kind of BE clothing or skill tape attachments....

Speed is very important.....footwork line first for the speed alone. Health hit 2 was the main reason but since the patch....it's debatable. Speed allows you to land status changing specials faster and if the first one fails, you will be fast enough to get more in before you risk taking a massive blow.

I actually took the fencer finesse line first only because by the time I started to do fencer I already had so much combat xp saved up from being a master pistoleer, I could instantly get 2 and 1/2 boxes in that line.

You know what, this is about the 4th time I've typed all of this....I think I'm gonna just right a detailed faq and refer everyone to it.....LOL

I thought I would add these pics to show what i'm talking about a bit. Now these pics are of me at master so there were more hits on me when I was lower level than you see here...but not many. Also this is against a singing mountain clan dragoon....not one of the strongest of the SMC's but still a formidable oponent......I fought a spell weaver right before this one but didn't think about taking pics until this fight.

Heres some pics of me at fort tusken....I was lower level here....can't remember quite the level I was but fairly low....nothing above box 2 I believe. needless to say, I killed them all.....(Note the 5k hit you see in the one pic was a commando hit by someone running by I think...or it might have been a rifleman...either way it wasn't me....hehe

i was actually going to ask a similar question when i saw this post. i've be hunting huurton huntresses and while grouped with one other get 4400xp per kill, solo around 3400xp. they only have 15% resist to kinetic so the go down fast, and the only special they seem to have is stun. big down side to me is that you only get two mobs per spawn and 30% of the time they spawn babies.

my question was going to be, does anybody know anything else to hunt on a different planet that are around the same or greater than these huurtons? TIA

With constant buffs and a little endurance, I went from novice brawler to master brawler master fencer in 3 days on savage quenker lairs. Once you get footwork 4 you can use a gaffi and then you fly trough the other trees.

Pikets are the best....good money, herbivore meat, good exp and best of all....they don't deathblow.

I ran through fencer. This was the process that I did, but you gonna have to spend some credits. Wear your favorite armour, composite or ubese. Go get a MD buff anda master musician buff and carry some muon gold and fisk /w you. i used a vibroblade or gaffi for a choice of weapons. Go to Dathomir and kill Giant biz nitches all day long. =) I did fencer in about 4 days.

Been doing Crazed Gurrek missions on Endor for a couple days. Currently I'm 0/4/3/2, thinking about shifting over to Dantooine. Only getting 3400 XP per kill grouped on Endor, so I'm moving to Dant!

I'm all with hardwiredx. I'm doing the savage quenker missions myself and am flying through the trees, especially after footwork 4. Only difference is that while I always get a good doc buff before going out, I never take muon or food (or armor, for that matter). I hate downers and having that constant monitoring of my mind state while I'm fighting. Instead, I have all my mind stats boosted to the max (nice as a zabrak) and solve the mind drain like this: I'll get to my s quenker lair, kill the first two (usually using specials for speed's sake), then sit in front of the lair until I have at least 900 mind. I'll start using specials on the lair then until I get a mob of quenkers, then spin attack them away. Of course Cob helps a great deal also. If your mind gets low, stop using specials and your mind will quickly recover even while fighting. I did use armor at first, but with all the dodge bonuses you get and a full buff to heal you quickly, the armor just got beat up for no reason. I agree, BTW, 10 min or less (usually much less) for each lair. So I figure that it is taking me about 15 min for each set of 2 missions in the same direction. (I'm at 0/3/4/2)

Note: On Scylla just north of the south outpost there is a player city called Gatica that gives out the improved pay for missions. Great for these. Between pistoleer and fencer just hunting I've made around 2 million.

2nd Note: I love savage quenkers. I started doing them with pistols and they've only gotten easier and faster to kill. (Duh!) A beginner CAN do them, just take it slow and one at a time if you can. They NEVER deathblow, just don't get incapped 3 times in 10 min and use maskscent if you have it (not great, but not bad either).

Savage quenkers don't deathblow, give comperable money for the time you spend on a lair, and have 1/3rd the HAM of a piket, so you kill them 3 times as fast. A good gaffi can kill a KD'd quenker in3-4 specials.

I myself am doing quenkers also. Just a point to make...Not 100% sure but i think pikets are 40% kinetic resist are they not? i'm 1302 atm and debating on taking the next step from quenkers as they don't pose a challenge. i was told move up to hurrtons because of the extra 1000xp per. Either way, dant is better then endor from what i've been told. when grouped savage quenk are only good for 3900xp and your guarenteed atleast one baby per lair in my experience
