Thread: Advice on Levelling up In Fencer?
saverage quenkers on dantoo, give around 4000xp and are VERY easy to kill you dont even need to be buffed, i wear no armor and solo them =)
also lookinto getting Ubese armor around 80%-50% it wlil help out greatly.
Savage Quenkers are not really a good idea if you're not that far into the fencer profession. I wouldn't even consider them unless you have footwork 3 and get buffed. I would suggests going after scyks or giant worrts on Tat...would give you about 700-1000 XP every kill...nice easy way to get XP and not get incapped every fight.
I suppose I took a slightly different route than most, but I did learn some things which were very helpful to me and I have soloed every step of the way.
1. What works best for you is what you can kill. It doesn't matter if you are fighting the best critter out there if you can't kill it it is worthless. Look for creatures that are yellow dots, something that will mob you so you don't have to chase their kiting butts all over the place and let them come to you. I dropped a bleed on each of them and then went about with my regular attacks around the group until they were dead. If you learn your skills right you will advance quickly without the pain of death all the time. I started with Rontos, I could take out the lair without dying and bull rontos gave me 3k xp a pop rontos about 1.5k each, I figured 9 to 12 rontos a lair it adds up. Then I started on Bantha Lairs, same priciple and when I advanced again, I started trying greater womp rats, they still giveme about 2.5k a pop and so on.
2. Mountain Worts, these were red dots to me eariler on but the theory works great. They DON'T mob you. Find a red dot creature that does not mob and fight it, you can pick on them one at a time, heal yourself or rest in between and you get good xp. It will take longer than the yellow dot mobs but you have the advantage of fighting when you are ready, the XP isgreat doing this but the time is also longer.
3. Buffs. If you buff then use it, I used buffs to fight critters that I knew I would be fighting once I completed my next tier. Go to a secondary world and rack up as much xp as you can, fight everything, let them mob you and laugh in their face as you kill them. At the time I was fighting gurrcats, they would spawn all over me and I just kept whacking away 4.5k xp each tons of them on endor and I got some good hides to sell to armorsmiths. When I was traveling back and forth I took out every swirl pong lair Icould find.
4. Move off a primary world. Once I finished my second tier I found I was able to fight things in the secondary worlds that had much more XP, when you get to this point go off world, find one that you are comfortable with and follow the same principles. Yellow dot mobs, red dot singles, buff up and hit every lair within reach.
5. GET A GROUP!!!! If you haven't done this doit NOW. Even if it is a pet or a droid, I use a droid, GET A GROUP. ALWAYS FIGHT IN A GROUP! You can group withyour pet and the 25% xp boast is invaluable. I wish I had known this earlier on, it took melonger to gainmy first 650k fencing experiencethan it did the last 2100k because I wasn't grouped to start with.
6. Learn about yourself. I know which DOTs really hurt me the most so I avoid creatures that use them, there are plenty of creatures out there that can do you real harm without the benifit of decent XP, they just aren't worth it, because their attacks are specifically aimed at hurting you where you are the most vulnerable. Learn what you CAN'T kill. For me, I have no ranged XP at all so I don't EVER go after critters that kite. It is just too much of a hassle.
7. Run missions, this is a personal choice but I use it whenever I go to a new world, it offers a nice variety of whatis available and you don't have to spend all day looking for every creature out there to experement on till you find one you like to kill. Once you find your favorite critterthen getting missions to kill them adds a bit of change to your pocket book, I used this extensively. Run two missions take off the armor and let time heal you by the time I was back, picked up my next two missions and was ready to fight I was completely healed without having to waste my stims. This is a personal decsion that doesn't work best for everyone, espically if you are grinding the profession but as I got better I found I could earn 200 - 300k credits a week with about 750 to 900k XP a week.
I really think that every world offers the opportunity to gain the advancement you need, the trick is to find a world that you are comfortable with, one where you know or can learn whethera creature is good xp for you or notand then stick with it.
you should buy some good ubese as others have said it helps a great deal hunt any thing with low kenetic restance , for tat its banthas all kinds worts all kinds until you start into foot work 3. then head off world to dantooine i did hurtons and the low lvl bol's but that was before the bleed nerfs but with good armor you should be able to handle them when you get to foot work3 get a damage sliced gaffi when you hit foot work 4 head to enodr and do blood stained mereks there vunarble to kenetic and give good xp or blurks ? i think is the name of them they have 20% restances but they are non agro and dont death blow the mereks do death blow both are good exp also on yavin mound mites are good exp while trying to get foot work 3 mameins are good when you get a little bit more advanced up the foot work tree. i did these mostly because i solo and i dont use buffs food or spice to lvl. if you can get a good group fort tusken is fun but i didnt care to solo kill there .
