Thread: With no more defense stacks in Publish, what will be your choice for second profession?

I've finally finished my template:

Blademaster

Doc 3440

TKA 4000


It seems to work real good, i can buff myself...rez others in my group and i can meditate away the poisons and disease and give myself a boost...and that force of will...nice in a pinch... i have a little non ch pet that i take with me for fun, just to confuse people. Point is to have fun ....

I'm staying as what I am. I'll miss my +210 dodge I had but I think I wills till eb happy with my +125.

TKA 4/0/0/4


Smuggler 0/0/3/0


I'm very deadly with both a pistol and a stun baton though I still do miss my eye shot and scatter pistol from when I was a BH

NERF this nerf that i do not care im staying master fencer tk and brawler. i enjoy beating things to a bloody pulp with hand to hand combat and melee weapons its the only way to go. guns are lame (o look at me i can shoot u from far away or light u on fire PANZYS U gotta be p-issed fight with all you got all the force in your body

so what if you have a full set of armor with 18 slots and in every slot you put a +9 melee def armor attachment, WILL it stack??? cause if not im going to be PISSEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD amakeing my attachments worthless and millions spent on nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




attachments better be able to exceed the limitation or what would be stupid and NOT fair at all!

Hate to tell you, but attachments prob won't be able to surpass the limitations. I wanted to do that with my doc character, and while it might show it has exceded....any number above the cap is a lie and doesn't help you.

This is wrong, block and counterattack do work to a certain extent. If an attack is blocked or counterattacked then it does halve damage which can be 100% absorbed by your armour if it is good enough. If you dont believe me get master swordsman or pikeman, a suit of armour with 70%+ kinetic, run CoB up, fight some piketsthen watch all the messages and your armour take a severe beating. The only bugs are that blocks with pikeman actually read as counterattacks in the combat log and that you dont get a free attack when you counterattack which makes block/counterattack have the same effect.


Dodge is the best secondary because it completely negates the attack. Counterattack (if working right) would be second best as you take half damage and should get a free attack. Block is the worst of the three as it only results in you taking half damage.


I agree with you that armour is too good though. I also think that the difference between Special Protections and base resistances is too small. Hence I have made a suggestion on the armoursmith forum to solve this problem.

Attachments only give you a +25 bonus to any one particular skill. It has always been capped at that. Food/Drink buffs can go beyond that +25 because they are only a temporary bonus.


Question is that if you are capped at the 125 dodge cap, can you get attachments that would take you to 150. My guess is no.

Yes, cuttle, you can, I am (I am only master fencer) however they will be EXPENSIVE.



The +25 extra dodge (Really +50 with COB, i think, it sure SEEMS to double) makes a huge difference, especially in high accuracy fights like Tk's and Bh/pistolierres.



I am glad of this +25 cap though, it limits the ammount that "Money powergamers" can surpass normal players, if, as an eariler poster said, they could stack all this +9 melee defense and crap, that would just be stupid, forcing you to make hundreds of millions to make an "ubersuit" that cant really be repaired (Heh, that needs a fix, mstr AS broke 5/8 pieces lastnight:smileyindifferent




As for the secondary defenses, I mastered pike, and swords, and they did not work when I was the profession, and in the "Rare" case that I use a different attack, that IS succeptable to a secondary defense, and it IS ca/blocked they seem to take full damage, Armor doesnt matter, I use the BDOD (Black Dil#@ of Doom)



Pistolierre IS broken, half the shots DONT work, A dear friend (Whos house I am at now) is Mstr pistolierre, i personally tested every shot, and about half do not work. If you truly want I can break down every shot, but thats for the pistolierre forum, not here.

I currently am TKM,/Rifleman but have decided to go Master Fencer because I like the dodge skills plus it seems as if everyone is TKM (Even though I will keep the med. line). I will also keep 1/0/4/0 Scout. I love the idea of shooting something at 60m and when it gets close just beating it's brains in.

Hmmm,now that you have the cap you need master brawler more than ever...it ups your CoB to 125(which is basicly +125 dodge for 36 seconds)so if you took a little pistoleer,you can cap your dodge and melee/ranged def and take some TKA or swordsman/pikeman and stack some def vs. mods too

this is all pretty confusing.. but will the pistol dodge and fencer dodge still stack up to the cap of 125 or whatever it is post patch 8 and is it confirmed? Thank you.

Blademaster/Creature Handler sounds good however Blademaster/Doctor also sounds good...i hate making tough descios
