Thread: Fencers list your weapon
It really depends on what I'm doing, as I have all my special moves macro'd to the weapon that serves it best. I have all of the 1hand speed modifers available in the Fencer tree, and 1hand weapon speed skill enhancers totaling +22; so having a weapon speed less than 2.0 isn't a top priority for me. This permits me the luxury focusing more on damage or HAM. Currently, I have the following set up:
Dagger: 36-64 damage, 2.0 speed, +32/+32/+32 accuracy, 4/9/4 ham (plus I keep range entending upgrades on it for some extra distance, not included in these stats since they can vary); pre-designated weapon for Blind1, Dizzy1, and Lunge1, regardless of opponent. My goal on these moves is the effect, not the damage, so I want high accuracy, and low ham. The ham costs on this weapon are so low I regenerate them nearly as fast as I can spam them. However, there is not usually a need for spamming these. They are generally opening-type moves, I need them to hit the first time.
Ryyk: 93-231 damage, 2.5 speed, -2/-2/-2 accuracy, 54/44/39 ham (plus I keep ham reduction upgrades on it for some economy, not included in these stats since they can vary); pre-designated weapon for Health1 and Health2 against opponents with no armor. My goal on these moves is to achieve as high damage of a hit as possible since that damage will be repeated in the bleeds that occur every 15 second interval after. The ham cost is high on the one hit, but since you effectively get the same damage as 3 BodyHit1's with a single Health1, or 3 BodyHit2's with a single Health2 (providing the fight lasts at least 30 seconds... less than that and bleeds aren't efficient anyhow) then you could view the ham as 3 BodyX hits at a 18/15/13 ham cost each... but without requiring the additional time for the 2nd two hits. If the fight lasts long enough to get in 1 or two more bleed cycles, then it was even more worth while. I find that to be a fairly efficient use, so I want as much damage as I can in that first hit so I don't feel as muchtemptation to try and get a better one.
Vibroblade-1: 41-147 damage, 2.4 speed, +7/+7/+7 accuracy, 17/29/17 ham (plus I keep damage boosting upgrades on it for additional kick, not included in these stats since they can vary); pre-designated weapon for Health1 and Health2 against opponents with AR1 and above. My goals for HealthX are the same as for what I listed on my Ryyk, except once that once my opponent dons armor, the -50% reduction on the first AP-vs-AR difference makes this weapon a better choice.
Vibroblade-2: 37-135 damage, 1.9 speed, +10/+10/+10 accuracy, 14/26/14 ham (I do not attempt to keep any weapon upgrades on this one since I use it so much; upgrades only last 100 hits so it's not feasible.); pre-designated weapon for spamming HitXs, BodyHitXs, SpinXs, and/or ScatterXs. My goal is efficiency with these moves. I want to do as many as possible, while doing as much damage as possible. After my initial opening moves (some combo of Dizzy and Lunge for bipeds, always a Blind, and Health's for any combat that I expect my opponent to live more than 30 seconds... whether I do or not) then I will spam whichever of these moves are the most appropriate tot he situation until either my opponent(s) is/are dead, or I reach 50% HAM (assuming no medic available) whichever comes first.
Then I will slap on all my armor (again, macro'd to happen with a single keystroke), and let my normal attacks (and some prayer) decide the rest of the battle. I'll stick with Vibrobalde-2 if my opponent has AR1 or better, but if not I'll switch to my...
Curved Sword: 84-202 damage, 2.0 speed, +8/+8/+8 accuracy, 29/54/34 ham (again, I do not attempt to keep any weapon upgrades on this one due to usage); pre-designated weapon for normal attack damage on unarmored opponents after I can no longer safely spam specials, and have equipped my armor. My goals at this point are to survive. The ham costs are no longer relevant since I'm not doing specials, so I could care less about the ham of the weapon or the endurance cost of the armor. I switch to armor generally at 50% HAM since my armor has AR1 and reduces damage by 50%. In effect, it's essentially as if I still had all my HAM, plus a little extra due to the resists of the armor. It usually works out pretty well.
Currently, Stun batons cannot be made in my galaxy due to lack of resources. However, I'm sure I'll find a nitch for them in my arsenal once they become available.
I know this may sound like a hassle to keep so many different weapons. However, by matching each weapon to the special or situation, I find I get much more out of them than trying to decide on one single weapon to "do it all". Once you set everything with macro's and/or hotkey assignments, the weapon-switching becomes pretty seamless and transparent. In fact, having specific weapons for specific specials has given me 2 benefits that were not available otherwise.
One, it was infeasible to use weapon upgrades since after 3-4 battles they would be all used up. By only using some of these weapons 1-3 times in fight, weapon upgrades become a very practical solution. A single weapon upgrade can last me anywhere from 30 to 100 fights. I can live with that. I buy my weapon upgrades in crates anyhow.
Two, by dividing up the work between these weapons, the decay is also divided up. It allows for much longer durations between trips to my Weaponsmith. When I do see that the end is near for my little friends, I email my order a few days in advance to give the MWS more time to get the best resources for the job, along with a healthy tip in advance to show good faith and to cover some of the cost of any special resources, with a request to be informed when they are ready. You'd be surprized how far a little curteousy in this area goes. Seems to work well for me. YMMV on that aspect.

La Femme Fencer
"Thrust if you love Fencers!"
i use curved blade with 70-162dmg 1.7speed(30% sliced) and +9 to all range modifiers.
I use it for a quick lunge then dizzy, then spam body hits. at 1.7 speed i can almost always pull off dizzy/lunge before the guy knows whats happening.
Raphayl, I wish you were on Naritus. I would love to provide your weapons.
I wish more and more combatants would learn the virtue of swapping weapons and using the right weapon for the job.
This Master Weaponsmith salutes you!
I also use a vibro blade 35-135 damage, 2.0 speed, 16 26 16 HAM.
I regularly buy crates of powerups to use with them. My favorite one to use gives +32% max damage, +16% minimum damage, and 0.3 speed increase.
VibroBlade - 37-165 damage. speed of 1.8. and HAM cost of 16/28/16. **edit** sweet blade. Im just a novice Fencer. i do alot of damage. cant remember exactly. ranges sort of from creature to creature or human etc.
I use this weapon coz i love the speed and HAM cost. but i would like a stun-baton due to the stun feature in different situations.
