I agree that Stun Baton doesn't seem to fit very well with our titles (Fencer, Bladesman, Blade Weaver, Blademaster), not to mention that it does kinda look silly. Although at the same time, if I remember correctly our actual skills don't reallymention swords specifically, they just mention one handed weapons (be it blunt, pierce or slash).

In the end, I just hope the designers fall through with what they said and add a bunch of new weapons soon. I'd rather see them concentrating their efforts on adding new weapons (to the Fencer tree) and fixing our class than worrying about if the Stun Baton "fits".

I actually wouldn't mind if they renamed us as well to something that implies more than just swords. I don't know of any titles, but something that would mean that we are masters of the one handed weapons... not masters of swords.

And finally, this is a little bit off the topic but I wish they added dual wielding and shields.. That would be such a sweet addition to our class.

OK so it's not the best final cert. Big deal. There will be more weapons once they get developed into the game.

Fencer is the class title. But 1H is the skill. Anything one handed, could be a pipe. Or a poolstick, what does it matter?

Noboday said all we use are swords.

Li Mu Bai picked up a stick and beat that Princess girl who stole his sword with it. What was it? It was pretty much kindling, I bet it wouldn't have lasted 3 minutes in a fire. He was definitely fencing with that piece of stick and it had no stun effect whatsoever.

Look at all the definitions of each skill box in the fencing tiers.....

They all say things like....the novice fencer learns how to wield a sword.....the fencer learns to wield a sword.....the fencer uses a sword to it's max.....etc etc....almost all the skill boxes say things referring to swords...almost all the time.

Then, there is the titles.....Bladeweaver, Blademaster, and i can't remember the others......

Only title that doesn't refer to a BLADE or SWORD is Duelist.

And sure I'll sit back and wait for the game to develop....However, I'm just trying to speed up the process.....as we have got to be around the most ignored class besides Bio Engineer, in terms of attention to trying to think of new ideas and implementing them to help us, as they have done with, say, Teras Kasi.

Why is it everyone thinks that the only martial arts that are worth anything come from the Far East? The truth is every culture has contributed something worthwhile to the fighting canon of humanity. Jiu-Jitsu, the Brazilian martial art of floor wrestling, immediately comes to mind as a non Asian example of a premier martial artform.

And if you ask me Samaurai were not the undisputed masters of sword work. European fencing is an ancient and very diverse form of sword fighting, and if a grand master fencer ever went toe to toe with a Samaurai at the top of his profession it would be one hell of a fight!

I have to agree with you fencers, swordsmen and fencers get some retarded weapons. Fencers should get swords, "Swordsmen" should get swords. Hell my advanced weapon is a hammer! Fencers should be renamed cops, and swordsmen should be renamed axemen, I mean come on!

And who's talking about martial arts? We're talking about swordsmen....that use baton's. **edit**, think of a full group of 20 fencers all using stun batons... it would be like a LA riot, and if we hadhorses... it'd be a NYC riot.

In my opinion, since samurai were basically the fastest and best users of swords in the ancient days, the curved sword, which is really a katana, should be beefed way up and made to be the fencer final certification so that it looks like you are really one of the best fencers, like the samurai were. Give it stun damage or whatever but that's how it should be.(stun katana?) Because I mean, samurai can whip out a katana from its scabbard in a millisecond and lop someone's head off in one swift silver arc. This is what being a fencer is all about. A two-handed swordsman is slower like a knight using broadswords.
