Thread: fencer under powered
This is My first post and fencer is under powered, the only way we are going to get better is by having some better dodgin and some bleeding attacks for crying out loud and alittle better damage to get us even with the other classes, this is my plee to sony.....
You will be pleased once you gain a few more skillups and discover we have two of the most efffective bleeds in the game, HealthHit1 and HealthHit2. ![]()
The Fencer profession has a few rough edges that need to be smoothed out, but it definitely gets better once you begin to close in on Master Fencer. If the ideas the dev team have suggested are implemented they will go a long way to solving several of our deficiencies. I have been working on a project that I'll provide here when complete that will help to identify many of the issues that aren't readily apparent. Hopefully, it will be helpful to both us as well as the developers to see not only what the Fencer Profession needs, but the amount it is needed.
I wanted to comment on all the negativity that has been tossed around on the board of late. I completely understand why it originated, and what has fueled it. But consider this... the more Fencers we have speaking on our behave the more we are heard. If every potential Fencer that comes to our board is bombarded with "Fencers suck" in every thread they aren't likely to stick around. That's one less person fighting for us. Yes, we have some problems... but I request that we try and get things turned back around on the boards. We always used to be complimented on how we conducted ourselves here, about how we didn't just whine endlessly. I was proud of that, and I'd bet others were too, but lately it has gotten down right depressing. We have a correspondent now (me) and I'm willing to work hard to get our needs heard and addressed, andcould sure use all the positive reinforcement you guys can provide.
So, I respectfully request the aid of all Fencers in changing the general tune of our posts from "Oh we are so gimped" to something more along the lines of...
1. This is what we have that works well and why.
2. Here is how to make the most of what we can do. (Really helps the newcomers).
3. This is where we are weak, these are the details as to why, and this the evidence used to verify it.
4. These are the suggestions are to how to improve the profession.
Any post structured along these lines will be taken seriously and will be included in our efforts to get things right. There's not mauch I can take to the devs in a post that just bashes us as a class with no constructive input.

Raphayl what have u been smokeing? We all know Health Hit1 sucks. I mean come on, it does NO damage,costs as much as other specials and i swear half the time i use it it dosn't even bleed the health, it bleeds one of the other pools.
My guess is that most of the people here are using low level weapons. Like I said earlier, I held my own against a Pikeman and a pretty much novice TKA by beating them in duels and not losing one of them. With all that said, I still think Fencer is weak BUT not as weak as you people are saying if I can hold my own 3 duels in a row and then head to Lok for 4 hours without dying once and I'm only a 0 0 0 0 Fencer!

It may be possible that you are thinking of another special attack, and not the HealthHits. Look for the damage on the attacks called Shiim and Shiim Shiak... er... or something similar to that. I guess I should wright all the styling attack names down.
Using HealthHit1, I often achieve initial strikes as high as 500+ damage, always always always to the Health Pool, and then the damage repeats itself once per 15 seconds for around 10 cycles. The HAM cost is noticeable, but since you are inducing 500 damage times times, I feel the HAM investment is small compared to the resulting 5000+total damage.
Using HealthHit2, I can achieve initial strikes over 1100+ damage, alway always always to the Health Pool, and like it's little brother the damage repeats once per 15 seconds for about 10 cycles. The HAM cost is a little bit higher, but since this attack hasover 11k potential damage packed into it, I don't hesitate to lead right off with it.
Want more? They stack! Not only with each other but also with HealthShot1 and HealthShot2 (the ranged attack health pool bleeds). More? Ok, bleeds continue even if you are incapped or dead. Even more? Alright, consider this... health bleeds are the only ones that attack the same pool thatnon-styled damage normally hits; which means if you run out of HAM for styling and have to rely on regular attacks you haven't wasted your specials. Not sure what else you can want unless you enjoy leaving a lingering effect on your targets... as HealthHits add quite a few wounds to the target's Health Pool.
Of course, since the bleeds occur over15 second intervals, if the fight doesn't last at least 15 or more seconds then you won't be getting your HAM's worth. As a tip, switch to a high damage weapon (damage sliced curved sword or gaderiffi baton) to do your bleeds, then switch back to your regular weapon.

healthhit...... using on faction missions....... it usually takes 15 secs for it to kick in..... dont most faction mobs die b4 15 secs? well they usually do for me..... i only use healthhit if its on mobs with 7k+ hamand AR1+ .... we do ok damage..... but where we are really weak is that we tend to run out of mind fast...... i mean i have a friend thats only mastered the flame boxes and he does more damage at less cost to his HAM... and we all know about how strong the BH's are..... but i also have a friend thats a master swordsman... and he does 2x-5x the damage i do his ham gets eaten up but its not his mind thats wasting he also a medic so he just heals..... not to mention we swing the same speed..... im not trying to say we fencers suck..... but we sure do right now...... im just waiting on the patch...... if the improvement sucks.... i dunno.... might give up fencer or even the game....... but it was pretty fun b4 they nerfed the launges.......

Been using health hit 1 for a fair bit o' time now and I've never seen it bleed anything other than health.

I routinely do faction missions where all I do is Health Hit allthe NPCs and let them bleed to death because otherwise they will kite me.
It ALWAYS does health, and it does 250-500 damage per tick depending on your weapon (always use a high damage weapon for your bleed)
