th8is is the first post i have ever made and i have been part of the beta and a hard core player.i know that every one playing a difernet profetion wants there's to be most powerfull but all i want is equality. I play one intrepid and i have only seen about 5 fencer's (not saying thereisent more but with the time i log one i should see as many fencers as other profetions) why is that .. well i think that its beacuse the fencer profetion sucks. i have been aiming for fencer cince i stared playing and the rewardes do not do any thing for the amount of time spentplaying. im not wanting better skilles or eayesr exp but im just saying up the speed of our attack or give usa little more damge or somthing you guys are smart you get payed for making things work i think you shoud figger things out and make things more equile

p.s sorry about the spelling i am the worst speller in the world

you're right... Fencer is probably the weakest combat class. A master fencer has no chance against a tka master or probably a master pikemen though I havnt tried it...

I'm a novice fencer/novice marksman, going to work on sharpshooting. I'm a pretty young player but I went straight to melee with a decent curved sword and got frustrated with how fast I get spanked with a group of mobs. Some things are alright but it doesn't seem I do worthwhile damage for the amount of time I'm put into just fighting with a sword, so I've picked up a rifle and started working on it. I think as a fencer you need to have proficiency in ranged weapons as well. I'm going to go rifles instead of carbines or pistols, jus my preference and keep my melee up so when something DOESNT die from range I can protect myself up close.

Stick with it guys. It does get better. I promise. I was beginning to think the same way but time and effort are paying off. It's a very rewarding profession in the long run though the road is long and the pace is slow.Yeah we may never doas well as othersin PVP but the dayI poppeda Tusken for 2860 pts of damage with a special move, I just about fell out of my chair. It has gotten better since then. Squills no longer con red to me. Creatures that I never would have dreamed of fighting alone now fall under my blade inno time. I have no needfor pets to tank for me anymore. Every time I notice something like this, I think back to my first days out of Mos Eisley, getting my butt kicked by gorgs and womprats and I go "Woohoo!!!!" It eventually starts to pay off. Have patience young fencers, your day will come.

I would have to agree with Rro... the higher you get in the fencer tree the better it is. But to start is a pain is the a$$ but when you get there the reward worth it.

I am 4 2 1 2 into the fencer tree, and i have yet to find a TKA around or over my skill lvl that can kill me in a duel, they might knock me down, but i can land dizzy and lunge on them before they can do more than 20% of my HAM in damage. Then its just sit back and taunt, i have enough time to kill them 4 or 5 times over before they can stand back up.

So, i guess ill put the debate to an end when i hit master Fencer.... and i duel a master TKA yes i might get spanked, but for now, i fear NO TKA artist......

It's even moreof a pain in the arse since three of the Fencer branches share the same XP pool...><

Yeah...last week in Mos Espa, I finally confronted an old bully...the Squill. I am pleased to report that I whipped him; his mate and took both their hides *which I decided to save in the bank*.

There are rewards, you just have to stick w/ it.

Well, it certainly is true that you become much more effective as your skills as afencer improve. That being said, I feel like the amount of the improvement still does not approach that of other professions. One anecdote will illustrate. My progression as a fencer is 4-4-2-3 at the moment. I was reducing anest the other day and resting in camp after a fight with twowhite cons that depleted my HAM bar pretty badly and caused some wounds I was treating. Indeed , I finished the fight incapacitated and the second one dropped from the bleed I had inflicted. A novice bouny hunter came along and asked if he could kill onethat had just popped in order to get the hides. Since most people do not even ask I invited him to go ahead while I rested up. Two shots later, thecreature was down without even having reached the bounty hunter. His only HAM depletion was from the two specials he used. The bounty hunter told me thatit conned yellow to him. I do not really care that much if other professions are more powerful, but I routinely face recovery downtime even from a fight with a high HAM blue con. Beating two white cons (I am not a CH) takes luck. I think it speaks volumes about the balance ofafencer's ability to cause and to avoid damage in close quarters.
