Thread: Master Swordsman vs. Master Fencer, Who Wins?
fencer wins almost all the time if there is no armor involved if there is armor well have a stun baton handy and it will be a good fight just watch out for that bleed one and two it sucks when they hit both even if you do win sometimes you lose lol
all and all fencer wins
this is coming from a master swordsman

The reason you hear about Fencers owning ANYONE is because they can use stun batons and ALL armors are vuln to stun, unless made wuth stun layer. I have personally dropped 4 TKMs in pvp and I'm not even a PvPer. In addition I was only 1/1/0/1 at the time. Use intimidate and warcry and don't rely on weapons alone. Use your bleeds and you will RARELY lose. Only person I've lost to in a PvP (again this is in my limited time doing PvP) was a rifleman. Those **edit** heavy AP T21s and their bleeds.

umm what were the other skills did you have other then fencer
Becuase a Master fencer master pistol is the hardest to hit. i dueled one yesterday and he wasn't master pistol yet but he was dodging or i was missing every hit while i was using my curved sword. i couldn't even land a bleed i kept missing. i managed to get in one bleed and when he finally got down to 1 mined i managed to get in one hit. even though this wasn't a fair duel cuz this one person was healing me which i didnt want but he fdid it any way. and btw non of us had armor on
ps and if that person didn't heal me he would have won by a long shot. which is why that pissed me off
Fencers are mighty hard to hit, the only thing we have going for us is that for some retarded reason our bleeds still stick on a dodge/counterattack/block. A CoB'd fencer will dodge over half of the hits you don't miss ourtright.
They are also really hard to knock down.
If you get a bleed on there and can stay alive long enough for it to tick at least once and get a head hit off... then yeah I'd think a swordsman can win... but the only master fencer I've seen duel pretty much just ripped everyone he dueled a new one.
I'm TKM/Master Swordsman... only classes I'm scared of in PvP are anything with Fencers, and rifleman.

pretty good anlysis of fencer. Let me add some. First off the said stun baton drains the mindand action pools badly. Depending on the type and rules of the pvp the stun baton can be more of a hendrous than help.I cant really spam with it even when buffed on my tatooine sunburn/ muon gold combinationA fencer is lucky in the fact he get scatter hit which works great for finsihing off an enemy weak in any pool. Point here dont let any pool get low even through fencer do body hits. Using a stim that weakens the mind low enough to finished off but completely heals health will get you killed againist a skilled fencer. Assuming no rules for pvp a fencer only has to really worry about mind because of the stun baton and stims.Swordsmen have great potential to take advantage of this thanks to thier bleeds. If i was a swordsmen i would wear composite to fool the fencer into pulling out the stun baton. As fencer dont use it on a reglur basis most arent aware of the double edged potential it presents. It could create the oppurtinty needed to win.
It depends on the player mostly and what you hit when, like was said earlier if swordsman gets bleed off it's over. However i wasn't even a novice fencer and I beat a battle master just because the first thing i did was dizzy, lunge (which KD'd) and picked him apart. The dodge mods really help. But in general i would say a fencer would win 60% of the time

Our bleeds still stick even if they dodge them, so we could smack them with both bleeders. Now, if they are able to get through your counterattack, then I'd just bleed and run, to prevent them from dizzy/KDing.
With armor, the swordsman wins...without armor, the fencer wins...that's pretty much how it goes for me.
I'm master brawler, blademaster and i'm dropping ch for swordsman. I get the speed and dodge when 1h weapon is equiped and mind attacks and heavy damage when two handed is equiped. Some simple macros let me use many different types of weapon in a single attack......
