well for one thing - a flame dot will incap. is that a bug or design? no other dot incaps.

and on the subject of BH's - no, they shouldn't be the best combat class in the game. if it were that way, why have any other combat class at all? (not that they aren't one of the most powerful combat classes as it is). they spend over HALF their skill points on NON-COMBAT. nuff'said.

personally, i don't feel that combat is that unbalanced, even with defense stacking. -aside from a couple minor glitches like huge poison dots, flame incaps, and the Carbineer KD spamming. that's just my opinion though, so.. to each his own.

nerf it all, the good players will still be good, the poor ones will still whine. heh

flame dot incap is a bug

BH spend 77 points of 217 on Non combat thats 36%

and Im not saying defense should not stack, Im saying that there shouldnt be a 'uber' layout to allow so much defense that only certain proffesions have a chance to hit them, that is what balance is.

Sometimes I think people get so paranoid about their profession getting nerfed, that they start to 'imagine' that they actually did get nerfed. Then they go running around telling everyone, 'I got nerfed, I got nerfed' and next thing you know, there's this vicious rumor that something got nerfed, when it never really did, and no devs said anything about it and there's a huge ordeal on the forums that hit a correspondent so hard that they decide to resign (yeah, I went there).

Geez people, get over the nerfs ... it's all in your head.

People still think BH is powerful? *giggles*

I could kill them as a swordie, and PvP-wise a swordsman can't do much. I'd like to see them put the unarmed 4 requirement back in Bounty Hunter and just then actually MAKE it the PvP god. Then all the little kiddies will run to that profession and stop making the pistoleers, TKA's, etc.. look bad. Bounty Hunters are SUPPOSED to be sneared at. What better way than to make it "Teh Uber" in player versus player? All the lamers flock to it, people hate lamers, so it will be realistic.

Just like with Jedi. Only the sillies with 24 hours a day to play got it. And since their normally just jerks that camp static spawns, people hate them.

That makes it hard to be a "well known" Jedi or Bounty Hunter. People hate them and its hard to prove to people that you're, "not like most BH's".

The mod stacking has an upside and downside. Its great that a 2 combat profession build can beat a 1 profession build. But the issue is that they leveled up creatures to compensate for it. So the crafters with novice combat skills cannot defend themselves long enough to get to their harvestors. Normally this is where the use of faction pets came in. But we ALL know what happened there. Some morons abused it and use their faction pets to farm krayt enchancements by easily soloing what was supposed to be the most powerful creature in the game. The krayt got beefed, the pets got "balanced". So crafters are left with having to get a MASTER ELITE combat class to kill the pack of dune lizards guarding their harvestor.

Oh yeah, we can ask someone to help! And they say... "HAHAHAHAZ UR PUSS WEK UBER NOOBER! DUELZ ME FIRST!!!111". Then they kill you and walk off.

Its not the stacking thats the problem. Its the devs response to it by souping up creatures. My crafter friend is scared to go 1km into the tattoonie desert now.

"poison will kill me in under 15 seconds (well, it does that to ANYONE except a doc so.. hehe).." right and thats balance for ya? Unhealable damage with no defense to it. The biggest mistake the devs made was to have a damage type that is unhealable and give the biggest hitters that target pool.

It's very healable, see a Doctor. As a combat medic I do as much poison damage to a pool as a master bleed and for the extra skill points I spend to get it and the time invested in crafting it, you have to have a Doctor to remove it. That's balance.

CMs get AoE poisons/diseases, while docs only have single target cures. In a mass-pvp environment a doc will never be able to keep a team "healthy"

Anyone up to a constructive discussion on the defenses?

You probably guess my opinion from my sig anyway, heh.

I personally think that this is a great system, its been said time and time again that we have invested the skill points in this and there fore why shouldn't we get the benefits of both professions.

I have master pistoleer and have novice fencer with a couple of boxes in footwork and finesse (woohoo spare combat xp from doin dirty fighting ) so i expect to get these stacks and the only reason i'm gettin fencer is for the def vs and the dodge bonuses. But since starting it i'm gonna master it, its fooking great and it doesn't feel like a chore to do, unlike pistoleer until i got fanshot that is.

BH is still powerful, but like any profession there is a player mastery, and a game mastery

-exactly.

my opinion is the CM poisons are far too powerful. there is no chance if you're not a doc yourself or you can find a place to meditate it away without being agro'd.

i dunno what they can do with it, but as it stands you can take out a group of any and all "ub3R3L1t3" combat professions with just combat medic with little to no cost other than having to do some crafting. there are no defenses against it except being a doc or having one follow you around in combat.

tell me again where your balance is? Perhaps if a CM could Area-Heal a poison... that might create some semblance of balance.

IMO, of course...
