Thread: question on the nerf
there is no "Nerf" there is a FIX.
It was never intended (per a dev) that the dodge stacks on meele and ranged. If you cant have 200+ dodge, sorry deal.
And to answer your question, the FIX will not effect you.
The FIX only effects Ranged (Pistolierre) dodge and Meele (Fencing) dodge.

There is no way that someone with 150 accuracy should miss a rifleman 9/10 times. If you are going to nerf dodge, then they better nerf tka/master rifleman/duelist because that is even worse. That template has around 200 melee defense, 180 range.
Nobody has a range accuracy that high and only tka is close on the melee. You then put them spamming headshot3 and thats it.
I don't even want to pvp anymore, let all of the FOTM players do it.
Please provide a link I too have looked and can't find it.

More than likely we will see what they did for CH, instead of dodge being in one tree split into all 4 trees
Like 2-4 dodge per box and a good jump at Master, And all skills being this way. It will be the only way to fix this without takeing skill points from us.

Okay, this is interesting! I could just call you stupid, but instead of beeing rude, i would like to know where you get your information from.
As of now, no dev has stated an official response other than "Mod stacking works as intended".
So, since there is no other officisal statement, other than a further "we will look into it" (cleary stating that it is as a matter of fact really working as intended), i would like to know where you got your insight into dev-minds.
Currently, the mods work as intended and are a vital part of the Balance in PvP. Due to the mods we finally have a rock/scissors/paper system in wich no single template is unbeatable.
Since changing the stacking without completely revamping the WHOLE PvP system would severly unbalance PvP, i would like to know where your insightfull ressourcebase was able to consider if a "Fix".
Current facts:
- mod stacking is working as intended
- no official response indicated a change of the current system of defense modifiers, other than the complete revamp
- HDTs are a vital part of the PvP, nescessary for the balance of templates
- notemplate is unbeatable or has an unfair advantage over other templates with the same skillpoint investment in the specialised area.
If your above statement was just "made up" by your mind, i would highly encourage you, to not further post about things that escape your knowledge.
In the same pass, i would encourage you, not to post about any topic related to PvP mechanics, as your most obvious lack of knowledge about the sctual game mechanics disqualify your as a serious discussion partner.
Once you reached the point where you understood the system, we can talk again. Untill then, learn the friggin game!

So 2 trees would give total of 14 melee Def and 2 would give 13
i'm a master rifle/TKA 0304/Master Fencer/medic 2000 - and yeah, it's pretty sweet.
BUT> if i get intimidated, it all comes through.
a master BH/Carbineer can hit me and KD me all day long. (+200 carb accuracy anyone?? no KD timer and the KD by-passes defense?)
TKM's don't miss very often, though they can't knock me down... (+200 accuracy anyone??)
Bleeds and dots of all kinds are basically unhindered..
poison will kill me in under 15 seconds (well, it does that to ANYONE except a doc so.. hehe)..
being a master rifleman, i have +160 rifle accuracy, so i'm a pretty decent shot. when i come across some of the other hotshot pvp templates on my server i will intimidate them, bleed them, and then it's just a matter of time (i fight master fencer/pistoleer/tka's on a regular basis - and i've fought against other rifleman/melee templates as well. i really don't see what you guys are complaining about - if someone wants to spend all their skill points on combat/defense, so be it..?)
anyways, you guys cry your nerf, if they make ranged/melee defenses un-stackable, BH's and commando's will probably be gods again and offense will rule the day... and i really won't even have to adjust my template, except to get the Meditate line so i'll have higher ham and can heal poison/wounds and i won't have to be so **edit** about stacking every little box i can. hah! you guys are doing me a favor. lol

and for the record - i have +186 ranged defense, and +176 melee defense - not over +200 anything.

"poison will kill me in under 15 seconds (well, it does that to ANYONE except a doc so.. hehe).." right and thats balance for ya? Unhealable damage with no defense to it. The biggest mistake the devs made was to have a damage type that is unhealable and give the biggest hitters that target pool.

And commando's? when the DoT gets affected by armor the flame will not be a bother, it will be like every other DoT with the exception that it causes massive wounds.
well for one thing - a flame dot will incap. is that a bug or design? no other dot incaps.
and on the subject of BH's - no, they shouldn't be the best combat class in the game. if it were that way, why have any other combat class at all? (not that they aren't one of the most powerful combat classes as it is). they spend over HALF their skill points on NON-COMBAT. nuff'said.
personally, i don't feel that combat is that unbalanced, even with defense stacking. -aside from a couple minor glitches like huge poison dots, flame incaps, and the Carbineer KD spamming. that's just my opinion though, so.. to each his own.
nerf it all, the good players will still be good, the poor ones will still whine. heh
