Thread: Weapons ( Future of Fencer )

some of these guys had a point, 'fencer' weapons would be nice, perhaps an offhand dagger (i cant remember the name of it in medevil times but they used it to catch others swords and for additional blocking) or a rapier like peircing weapon (ap2?, with its needle like tip) with low damage, but fast attack speed.
the ham costs around are very balanced i would say, with stun baton..you pay for what you get , and maybe its because im always buffed but i find i can spam styles even at 0201 fencer, quite fast even
it is called a maingauche (spelling?) short sword/long dagger for the offhand in two weapon fencing styles. duelists were also known to use a heavy cloak, leather/chain gauntlets etc to serve the same purpose, though through different means. Cloak to entangle..glove to grab...maingauche/dagger to parry.
Personally Id like to see a more "Streamlined" sword type, call it a rapier, give it light AP, lower base damage, lower ham costs, but faster, not silly omfg nerf it fast, but faster then the gaffi/stuns, its lighter, therefore should be easier to whip around.
Another possibility, and I think someone else said so as well, is more of a traditional broad/long sword, even if its stats are identical to a gaffi, the different look alone would be enough....I mean really...a fencer with a pipe? Come on!

Low damage and fast attack speed doesn't mean much when anyone with footwork 4 can reach the speed cap for every weapon we have, I would like an AP style thrusting weapon, hrm hrm Rapier, 200 base dmg when made and experimented by master weaponsmith, 3.0 speed so it doen't give too much an advantage to those who dont have footwork 4, maybe 3.2 /shrug.
Rapier
AP 1 (2 may just be an unfair advantage guys :/ and might be called on for nerf)
140-200 max dmg
Speed 3.2
Ham 30/50/20
Unfair advantage? Unfair advantage you say? We're the second worst melee profession in the game! We deserve our time in the sun. Commando got it (only for a day sadly) So we deserve something. I fail to see how AP 2 is ludicrous, considering Swordsman does times more damage than us and is the same speed as us with Skill tapes. AP 2 is they're average. We deserve something stronger than this! Change the damage to 180-300 and then we'll talk.

No matter what weapon they might add for us, i would rather have a direct mind hit. really erks me that we have no mind shot considering a one handed saber concentrates on mind hits.

oh, erm, sorry, re-reading the Wheel of Time is messing with my head
Things I seriously think we need for weapons though:
A fencer is supposed to be nimble and precise, and our weapons should reflect that in the lower dmage(which they already have) and tighter damage ranges to reflect that precision.
Lower the Gaffi to be the worst weapon above the dagger/survival knife, by it's very description it is a piece of scrap metal used by a primitive race of scavangers.
Tighten the damage range on the curved sword.
Tighten the damage on the vibro blade and rename it vibro dagger (which is what it is)
Fix the accuracy mods on the Ryyk blade, make it ap 1 and give it the damage range of the current Gaffi stick.
Add a rapier type weapon, certification location similar to the scythe, ap 1 very tight damage range 170-200 ish, low speed 2.0 high accuracy and moderate HAM costs.
Add a vibro sword (long, broad, sabre, rapier, cutlass...whatever) at master level with stats on par with the Scythe. (have a 2 or 3 use schematic from a basic quest... much like the scythe... on a planet like Rori or Talus or somesuch, that requires some rare...but not impossible... loot items to make {again, just like the scythe}) As much as I HATE having loot drop items in a player crafter economy, if that were not the case ANYTHING added would raise cries of Nerf.
Fix the stun baton. Insulting enough that our current "elite weapon" is a hyped up billy club, the general stats on them are terrible, and as it lacks any AP, it is virtually usless in PvP unless it was made with very good Acklay bones.
Whatever manner Raphayl is memorialized with it will take a very long time to design and code the final result so that it is worthy of her memory.

The sword is essentially a standard vibroblade hilt and shaft without the powered components commonly used in vibro weapons. At the end of the blade rests a small metal nozzle which caps a blast tube similar to that found in most blaster weapons. When activated the blastsword's tip hums and glows slightly abd, upon making contact with a target, discharges a standard blaster bolt.
This coiled whip has an outer coating of flexible metal panels. The core of the whip circulates super-cooled chemicals that chill the outer panels. As the tip of the lash strikes a creature or object, the extreme cold of the metal panels causes a near-explosive chemical reaction that generates a stunningly cold blast and a loud crack...
When Togorian weaponsmiths acquired vibro weapon technology, they incorporated it into later redesigns of the traditional Togorian scimitar, creating a version of the classic weapon prized by interstellar vibroblade collectors.
Feorin weaponsmiths adapted vibro technology to create this double weapon-essentially, a 1-meter-long haft with a curved vibro blade at each end. The wielder can use both ends of the weapon...

The sonicbaton discharges a pulse of sonic energy that cannot be deflected by lightsabers.
****These were provided in a link earlier and come from the Roll Play Star Wars Game,I "adjusted" and edited some content to fit more into SWG and tryed to fit every need or want of the Fencer Profession.

I cleaned it up a bit more, I think all these weapons would be a nice addition to the profession.
