Gungeun brings up a good point that I don't know if it was mentioned before because I didn't read all 6 pages of this thread but damage types are very limited for fencer. Any future changes to fencer weapons should include something other than kenetic or stun.


I'm a little surprised that the vibroblade doesn't do electrical damage as it is. But a wider range of dame types is a definate need. Cosmetic changes to me are secondary to this functional change.

last time i checked we were fencers... not baseball players (sticks)... or cops (batons)...


but since those r our end game weapons (even tho i'd use a sword just cuz it looks better...) we r in a sense screwed

somebody was askin for heat damage??? why??? just about everything has heat protections, i know on scylla Heat is a base for compo and the bases are in the high 70%'s now-a-days so heat is useless, on top of that most things out on Tat and Dant have only heat and some other protections, I dont think ne weapons will happen soon but i think we should see what armor is like after the revamp and then ask for a weapon cause i bet u there will be either A. some new damage types. or B damage types are changed around

Yah, I really wish that fencer had a knockdown like TK. But as a weapon i have 2 different ones. For PvP i usualy use my Stun Baton, (mostly 4 the composite damage thing :smileytongue For most other things i use my sliced 4 speed gaffi stick. :-) i love it

Wenn the devs chose the name fencer it was because one-hander sounded crap, we arent musketeers. Why anyone would like to have a coil or a rapier I cant understand. I would like to see some futuristic weapons not medievil or rencance weapons. If I wanted to run around and use long swords, gladiatus or rapiers I would play a fantasy set game, like world of warcraft or everqueest.

I agree with just about everyone. I took fencer initially because I thought, watching others, that the specials looked gorgeous in action. Once I mastered it, I loved the profession....and then I went shopping.


After about 4 hours of useless hunting the only worthwhile weapons I found were gaffis and batons. And none in the price ranges of other classes weaponry. Certainly nothing in the Million range worth paying for.


So, i thought....Hey, ive seen a few DECENT curved swords...and thats about the coolest looking of our weapons...ill ask a master weaponsmith to craft me a awesome one using this here aklay....or this here geo core..... but no. Still a lump of crap weapon.

Why? Its a bloody katana. Historically these suckers could cut through a TREE with minimal effort...hell, the samurai would test them on LIVING subjects and if they werent cut in half, more or less, from a single swipe, the blade was useless and they then killed the smith that MADE it as payment.


I want to see swords. Many of them. Ditch these ridiculous gaffi and baton fixations. Our two best weapons are blunt ones. I dont recall fencing being at all related to mace fighting.


So...a list:


Rapier/Epee: Higher AP (1 or 2, if 2 balance damage accordingly or increase HAM), with a lovely speed in the 2.5-3.0 range. Damage in the 75-220 range for basic.


Longsword: AP1, 3.0 spd, average HAM costs. Damage 82-260 for basic.


Sword(current one):Boost its maximum possible damage when made by weaponsmiths to at least make it viable. Additionally perhaps make different damage types possible depending on components used (Kin, Stun)


Ryyk: again, boost its highest possible crafted damage. And maybe alter its damage type.


Rantok: Make them out of something OTHER than rubber or foam please. They are utterly useless. Better off with a stone knife.


Vibro Blade: keep as is


Vibro Sword: Follow the concept of the vibro blade...only higher end damage.


Force Sword: Energy damage. Spd 2.6-3.4, damage range 80-300.


Nerf Bat: Inkeeping with current blunt weapons, lets add this comedy goldmine. Make it huge and pink and emit a squeaking sound like a rubber ducky whenever it hits someone. Uber.



Other ideas: The ability to poison our blades with some sort of crafted item?


Dual Wielding=teh good, as well.


lets see some bluddy changes already.

that seems like some good ideas. Well i especially like the poisen one. OH and im dumping fencer because commando has cooler weapons :-)
