Thread: You guys are trying too hard.

I'll be going home Sunday Evening and moving into my new apartment for the next 2 days. Once I get net access at my house, I am going to be sitting down for a few days and doing some hard-core testing.
I'll be posting HARD numbers and raw data, I'll be testing viable Fencer builds and templates. I'll be testing against High-end random spawned NPC's and pulling missions from EVERY planet and putting into a database. I'll be testing mitigations for amor and without armor. Which weapon works best agains which enemy.
Expect it, because I will be testing all the above. Of course, I am going to take some time out to grind up some of my Jedi... but that's beyond the point. When I test, I have pads of paper, a few pencils and prepare by shopping for things.
But with Vendors & Bazaars being broken, there's not alot I can do objectively... Thus why I would need some help.

Stop kissing butt to be correspondant. I don't the next cor to be someone who put on a big act to get attention.
Devs will pick whoever they feel is the best, not the person who posts the most or tries to act like the correspondant already.

Would you rather have someone who doesn't care about the profession and doesn't try and find out what is needed?
Or someone that actually tries to figure out issues and concerns?

I'd prefer someone who doesnt spam posts the moment the present cor resigns.
Alot of you are guilty. I just think its ironic. Some of these posts try so hard they end up not making any sense.

Somebody should actually post the results of the attacks, not what the little description boxes say. We have some borked moves. One of you should post cliff notes of testing an attack.

Ya know I understand what the leaping corc is saying. I was actually somewhat entertained by what appeared to be a little competition and I thought it appeared a little bit obvious and silly but I wasthen reminded of an experience I had with an essay contest I didn't win when I was in the 4th grade.
I remember reading the winning essay which was posted in the magazine and thinking "Well she only won because her essaysounded grown up". Think about why I told you about this childhood experience and let me know if you don't understand the point I am trying to get across.
A while back I thought it'd be cool to have a blue name and work with the devs, but right now I read a ton of forums and there's no way I'd be willing to put in that much time right now. Some day I might be willing to consider the GCW correspondent as pvp is my purpose for play.
So for those of you who may be subtlely trying to compete for this position, post in my thread about fencer issues. I don't think they have any clue due to the small percentage of fencers who actually post. I promise I didn't apply for your position so lets get some feedback goin. I assure you the new correspondent will be making an identical post so lets get it rollin while the devs are reading this stuff.

Yeah, from the outside looking in, it may seem there's a lot of competition for the Corro spot, but what's wrong with trying to help out with posting stuff with your community? Yeah, I did try for the spot, but if I don't get it, that still won't stop me from testing and posting my finds. It's always easy to hate on someone who's trying to do some good, instead of trying to help chip in and help others.

hah , look pal i personaly would love to be Corespondant or sand box member. i have been here a very long time. i registered and posted on the forums 2 years before the game went to beta. then i got in to beta 2 october 2002. so i know my swg 
.
. Some stiff competition tho, KAotic_HeRo , PoppaBear , and ARC_Casper . they are all great guys and love the profession as much as minerunner and myself do. when raphayl took over she had shown just as much vigil to gether if not more then we are. when the dust settles and one is picked im sure the other 3 well help support the correspondant fully.

When I work, I can't get in-game. When I can't get in-game, I'm either doing some work -- or posting on the forums. Since nobody had done a compiled guide, I took it upon myself to start one.

Did I ever say I'm hating? It's pretty obvious to see whats going on. The same thing happened on the AS forums when Okram got the boot.
Seems to me people just want the bragging rights to cor than anything else. Do you guys actually have what it takes to be the cor?
Oh, and I've done a part. We aren't communists here. These boards are boring, dull, and useless. I'd venture to say that the only good thread we've had is the Junti Mace one. Otherwise its some newbies asking if their stun baton is good.
And it wouldn't be so bad if some of these posts were worth a damn. Try something else than copy and pasting the skill trees. Thats not revelant information.

I all those who applyed do a great job. The two problems I see is that:
The most important thing a correspondant has to do is to represent the community in front of the big bad giant SOE waving mjölnir above out heads. At the moment I hust hope minerunner is still doing that in the corr forums.
Remember this all a game and supposed to be fun for us.
Thus said, I might add that the upcoming corrospondent can count on me if (s)he needs helpers to test stuff.
- It is hard to believe that the current hard work can be kept up over an extend period of time.
- Some corrospondent applicants seem to try to be omnipresent, which makes the community feel oppressed. Basically what you're all doing is good, the problem is that it feels strange if people try to have a word, or even the last word, in everything. It is more a psychologic problem than your work not being good, I guess.
