Thread: Before you begin a new topic...
If you have a question you are curious about and were planning to post a brand new topic to ask your question, please check to see if your question comes up below:
- Which Fencer branch is best? Which should be taken first?
- What does Fencer special attack "1handmeleeblahblah" do?
- How is weapon speed calculated?
- Do Fencers get a bleed attack? Do the Fencer bleed attacks stack?
- What is the best Fencer weapon? What weapon stats should I be looking for?
- Who has the best weapon so far?
- What profession best works with Fencer?
- Why can a TKS solo 20 Krayts at a time while Fencers get owned by asingle Diseased Nuna? (or anything along those lines.)
- Should I wear armor as a Fencer? What kind of armor should I wear?
- Why doesn't the Stun Baton stun? Why doesn't it damage lairs?
- Where should I hunt as a Fencer to get the best experience?
- What are the best PVP tactics for a Fencer?
- Do Fencers get a Knockdown?
- How should I migrate my stats?
- Do we get a creature-part weapon powerup similar to Krayt-tissue powerups for ranged weapons?
- Why should I be a Fencer?
- Why don't Fencers get a "1handmeleeblahblah" attack like professionX does?
Or, if you have a new idea you would like to post, see if it is on the list below:
- Best melee-profession combination is....
- We need to run faster than ranged because...
- We should get an attack that slows or stops our opponent from running away or kiting us because...
- TKS should be nerfed (or whatever) because...
- The game designers have this secret agenda to accomplish...
- Hey look at my cool weapon, it's stats are...
- A holocron told me to take a turn as a Fencer for awhile so I can become a Jedi.
- Fencers should have a 1handmeleeblahblah" attack that does...
- Fencer's stink because...
- Fencer's rock because...
If you the new threadyou were about to begin is identical or pretty similar to something above, please to not add to the growing sea of duplicate posts and questions. This is a feature in the bottom left hand corner of the forum called "Search." You can type in a keyword and locate any thread that has that keyword. If you don't find what you are looking for, or the search returned too many threads to choose from then you can use the Advanced Search just tot he right of it. You can further tailor your search by limiting your search to a particular Forum, to a particular poster, some or all keywords in a subject line or in the body, or even posts that do NOT have certain keywords.
By using this search feature the posts that are truely unique or groundbreaking can stay toward the top and be seen more readily. This will keep the forum a bit more orderly, and make the search for new information easier since the same old topics aren't being repeated 2-3 times a day.
Thank you for your professionalism and cooperation.

Lol at this post....if all of those things are already on here i guess you must figure everybody has a poor memory and needs to make a list of things they shouldn't do. Like you are the expert in these things.ha
If i want to ask a question you feel is not needed or is a repeat or is a stupid question...i am sorry but you ain't going to stop me....just make a point of not reading any posts you see my name on....you probably would be insulted.. someone of your high brow intellect I can understand that. Pleaseno one pay any attention to the "before you begin a new topic" post......Questions are the only way any of use are going to learn anything.....regardless of what this post suggests. So, being stupid like i am, I will ask some more stupid questions and no one can stop me.
Not to mention the "search" feature has a success rating of about 1%. It will give you all kinds of posts EXCEPT what you were searching for.
However, yes original comments were pretty funny to read!
First, this was not meant to be taken as a "demand", but merely a suggestion to try and help keep your forum working efficiently. It was also to inform those that were not aware of the Search feature that it existed, where it could be located (it's not at the top like it is most places), and some of the features to make it more productive and finding what they are searching for so they don't have to browse through several pages of posts. When using the Advanced options and a bit of common sense you can usually narrow your focus down pretty well. I've always have pretty good luck in finding what I'm looking for. I suppose your milage may vary.
It is true that information changes periodically. This is the "new" information that I was hoping to help stay at the top. By keeping it at the top it can be easily seen and not spammed off the page within an hour by 20 different threads on the same subject. Still, if this is the preferred method, by all means persue it.
This did not used to be that big of an issue because the Fencer forum used to be such a tight-knit family-style community. We all tried hard to work together without seeking to attack or put each other down. With the sudden influx of temporary Fencers due to holocrons messages this forum has began to change. Not just the same old questions (whose answers haven't changed), but even the feel of the way everyone responds to each other.
I am certainly not trying to insult anyone or imply that anyone has a memory problem. I have enough to do without wasting time flinging insults. I'm content toleave that to those with little else productive to do. I was basing this thread off the concept thatpeople new to a thread usually browse the sticky posts to get some basic information. By listing the above FAQ it let's them know they are not alone in their curiousity, and the information they seek can be found by spending a couple of minutes using the search feature. If they don't find what they seek with the search feature, of course they should feel free to post their question.
What I would like to do is provide links for the above FAQ so all one would have to do is click the link the find the info. But since the information is subject to change, and since posts cannot be edited, it just isn't practical. If posts could be edited, I would be more than willing to look up all the related posts myself and link to them all for you.
I'm really surprized that my attempts to help out have been met so aggressively. If you have a different opinion than mine, that's cool. Can that opinion not be stated professionally and objectively? Must it be formulated as an attack? Those that have been emailing me and asking why my posts are less frequent, this is a good example why I have been limiting my posts to replies to direct questions, or information from the Developers.

There's absoluting nothing wrong with "Fencers Rock" posts.
That's was actually a bit of a joke... as you rarely see them. I love trying to harbor a positive attitude. If anyone truely wanted to post a Fencers Rock thread, I'd bump it, ...just for GP! ![]()

In light of the responses this thread has received, I take it my suggestion to make use of the tools available to us is not an option.
I'll unsticky the post. If no one responds it will soon float fo the page and you won't have to be bothered with it. I'm sorry that this effort to assist was taken so poorly.
No need to act so wounded.
Instead of posting the Questions only why not compile ANSWERS to those Freguently Asked Questions...maybe you could give it a cute Three-Letter-Acronym like FAQ or something?
Look at the Politician Board. I think the correspondant there had a great idea with a "The Questions" Thread, and a "The Answers" Thread. And of course the info in this FAQ could be updated as need be.
Just a thought. ![]()

I addressed this in my fifth paragraph above. It's something that I would like to do. I'm currently involved in another project that was requested of me. I'm nearing completion, then I can begin on something like that. In fact, those that have actually been around the Fencer community for awhile will recall that I had begun that very thing some time back. I couldn't go very far with it at the time because the information was still changing so rapidly it just wasn't practical. However, it is somethign that I would like to accomplish. If you would like to volunteer some time to help me put that together, I could get it put together faster.
Again, Vylin, why the hostility?Aren't we supposed to be on the same side? Have I wronged you in a past life or something, or is this just the way you prefer to express yourself? I don't harbor any ill will toward you. I'm here to try and help Fencers, to help you. I'm not acting "wounded" as you put it. I simply made a suggestion based on an observation. If it isn't onethat's desiredthen there is not reason to keep it stickied. It's being rational, not emotional. Before you begin your assault on me, perhaps consider that fact that I really might be inmy current office becauseI want things to improve for Fencers. You are a Fencer, right? To me it would sound like we are supposed to be on the same side. Give me the benefit of the doubt that I might have your best interests at heart.
Sarcasm and attacks aren't necessary to get my attention. I try to be very attentive to all the posts, even if I don't post to them. I do my best to represent the needs and desires of this community to the developers, and head off nerfs before they filter to the live servers. To get my attention just state your ideas calmly and professionally like you would at any business meeting where you are trying to submit an idea or concern. We can discuss it if needed to work out the details, and I'll gladly to your ideas to the Devs and see what we can work out.
Regardless how things might work in other forums, I'm on your side guys. Try being on mine, we can get more accomplished.
