Thread: New Correspondent?

Well with Plinka resigning, although not in disgrace like many other political figures, it seems we are going to have to throw a vote of confidence and elect a new chancellor of the profession. Who will answer this call? I would love to throw myself into the correspondent hotseat and use my newly aquired skills to fulfill this job. However I do not have a city hall in place where my town was planning to grow and thusly have no means of advancement and would not know half the things that other players would. So this thread is really just a call out to the lucky few that have a hall in place and likely a large vote behind them to discuss and gain access to development.

Although Im set in place with my city, I feel the correspondent should be someone super active in this game. Pinka did a superb job in my opinion, but then again now that this stuff is live, it shoud have a live correspondent. Good luck to whoever wants it and make us proud

I myself have a city hall. I play 8-12 hrs daily and sit on the boards every waking moment while I'm at work. I would be willing to take on the role but I would much perfer If Plinka would reconsider the decision.

Well of course it would be best if our correspondent doesn't quit, however if she feels that she can't do the job enough to post it I feel that her reasons are valid even though we have no idea what they are. I would love it if she stayed as well but since she isn't and the profession is just a few days old we are gonna need a replacement quick.

So I figured on making a thread that all people willing to accept the charge can post in and the devs can take a look and pick one of us or let us vote for it. I would be more then tickled pink if I was chosen since I would love to have access to the correspondent forum but I dont have a way to test higher lvl skills then rank 1 city at low lvl politician as of now so I would not make a good choice. You seem like a fairly good one thanks to having a town and a large amount of playtime, even if you are a bounty hunter. Any other people want to take a stab at the primaries?

Its not testing the profession which is an issue. A correspondent's job is to collect information and be a liason to the devs, and to help people out on the boards/ingame with the profession. They aren't beta testers, however they do sometimes test things to get information to better the profession.

Correct, a correspondents job would be to the middle man between the developers and the player base. But having experience and something to work with to provide the players with more assitance with information and answering questions is definatly a big plus.

Personally, If I was given the opportunity to be the politician Corrrespondent I would gladly except it and put in a great deal of time and effort. I do plan on mastering Politician. But I dont think im any more qualified than you are bud =)

Heh, thanks.

Anyway,I agree. The correspondent should obviously be in the profession as to test things that players complain about, and provide accurate information. Still, their primary job is one of a liason. However, anyone can be a liason, I am sure they could find someone who is both responsible to relay information and to be a politician ingame.

LordValadon,

I've been watching this board closely and I've noticed that your more than willing to answer peoples questions about player cities and the politican profession and on top of that you seem to have very accurate answers.

If you wanted to take a serious stab at obtaining the Correspondent position, I would be more than willing to stand side and support you in that.

Cheers,

I'll consider it.

I first want to see how this pans out. The other correspondents really don't want Plinka to go, and perhaps she will reconsider. I am just helping out while we need it. If we do need a correspondent, I will definitely consider applying.

How do you improve the entire game, and one of the more useless professions at the same time? Well this is a start: Help Support the http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=squad_leader&message.id=10609>Fortification Proposal

They claim to have chosen a new correspondent (Thulium?), but for some reason haven't "appointed" one yet.

yeah i know that much, but at the time cap was still holding the title and now it has been removed. so i figured if they took the time to remove his title they would have assigned the new correspondet at the same time. but i havent seen anyone else with it yet
