Thread: Did anyone else get seriously beaten up last night?

OK, Tuesday night I was doing missions and was very easily handling even con mobs with little problem.

Last night I go to a lair, start to attack an even con mob, and almost get my butt handed too me. What the heck happened to us? I thought it was just a bad mob or something but I tried it again on a few more and had the same results.

Anyone else experience this too?

I had the same problem. I spent most of the night watching my combat damage numbers to see how big the damage boost was from the patch. For whatever reason though, spinhit1 and onehandbodyhit2 seem to be doing significantly less damage than before the patch. My average damage from onehandbodyhit2 last night was in the low 200 range which is just barely better than my standrad attack . Prior to the patch I used to hit for about 600 on average using this attack. Just to test things out, I put onehandbodyhit1 back into my toolbar last night and started alternating it with onehandbodyhit2. More than half of the time i was doing better damage with onehandbodyhit1. I opened a ticket on it and just gave up using the attack after a few hours of testing.

On the positive side though, onehandhit2 does seem to be hitting for slightly more damage on average now. Now if only I could actually dodge.

I don't know about you all but my HAM bar is taking a pretty big dip after this last patch, especially my mind pool...it was taking -102 off my mind pool per special for that Novice Fencing attack skill melee1hBodyHit2(?)

I did notice that my favorite Trosh targets outside of Narmle on Rori are now agressive :-( Used to love to just walk up to thier camp and smack one of em down while the others just ran in terror . If there was a change, I didn't notice. Though, I only wear armor to take out large things and difficult group targtets...so I often take more damage then your average bear, just to avoid high ham costs for smaller things. I'd like to say that I was taking more damage, but I wasn't really working for skill etc last night (drops have changed, and it now seems that locked containers a bit more rare, but may be jsut that they no longer drop hundreds of weapons).

I noticed the same thing. I grouped with my husband's TKA last night I realized fairtly quickly that I wasn't getting nearly the xp that I used to get. As an example If we both attack a creature equally, he is now getting about 1000xp and I'm getting about 300xp. Prior to yesterday's patch I normally got around 800-900xp. After noticing the drastic reduction in xp, I noticed that my damage was far less than it used to be. The only thing that has changed has been the patch and I'm wearing socketed pants that should be giving me a +4 to one-handed weapon speed.

edit to my above post...my example doesn't make much sense as I reread it. Basically prior to the patch, I was getting about 45% of the xp when grouped with my husband. Now I'm getting about 20%.

Not only do I agree with all of this, take a look at your stats after your fully healed and no BF and they are lower than they should be. Prob another reason why we are getting our asses kicked. My full 1000 health was hovering near 800 even though no wounds and no BF.

Fooking crap.

I didn't notice alot of difference in damage (though I didn't fight that much last night), but my HAM bars seem to drop alot quicker with specials and the spin moves in particular. Not absolutely sure it wasn't my imagination, but it sure seemed like higher HAM costs with specials..

I noticed the same thing. Last night I went to do a destroy mission on a krevol lair (yes, I'm not very high yet). Usually, I can take the horned krevols out quickly and even take on 3 or so at a time. Spin attack will usually kill them in 2 or 3 hits. However, I ended up taking quite a beating and many times didn't even see my spin attack go off.

Also, did anyone notice a drop in credits for missions? The same missions that I would do a couple of days ago now seem to pay out 200 credits less. Before, I could take two missions in the same direction and have them both be around 1100 to 1200 (dificulty 11). Last night, I was lucky to find one of the listed missions of the five that was worth more than 1000.

I 2 was bested by dark blue cons ...Horses at that! I could normally kill them with one hit. It seems like the patch greatly increased 1) HAM cost 2) Damage 3) Increased animals strength.

Now a once proud and brash Fencer is intimidated and scared of a pack of gorgs

Good Job

Am sorry to hear about your plight as fencers. Did they throw some kind of stealth nerf at you? Am actually checking all the melee boards and it seems 2h has the same problem. They notice more ham usage for specials and less damage being done for both styled and unstyled attacks =(

Did melee just get the shaft overall here on patch day? I don't see any melee folks happy - well cept the masochistic ones who liek doing less damage for more ham.

Hope you get some answers!
