Thread: uber fencer setup

I was going through character builder trying to find the best possible combo for being a fencer. I have been working on this for a while now and I'm nearly master fencer.


Master Fencer / 4-0-0-0 pistoleer / Master CH


master fencer with pets and uber dodge bonus' This leaves you with like 3 remaining skill points. I was thinking about getting more from pistoleer (defence bonus' etc) rather than mastering CH. Any thoughts on this.

1. Pets are poor tanks.


2. I dont belive dodge stacks anymore

Well, after reading some more posts, it seems that it may be better to go for Master Fencer, Master Brawler and 4-0-0-0 pistoleer. Possibly with some TKA stuff...?

Dodge stacks just as long as you're weilding a weapon (pistoler from Pistoleer line or a 1 handed weapon from Fencer line) in the appropriate profession.

explain how i dodge 6% using a pistol and 40-50% using a 1handed sword no cob on

Some people swear that dodge still stacks and others swear that it doesn't. My feeling is that it sometimes does and sometimes doesn't... in effect I think it is kind of buggy right now. I believe the folks who say it is stacking for them, and also the ones who say it is not.


A master fencer with master brawler and TKA's meditate line would be an incredible melee person. A master fencer / master pistoleer would be a very balanced fighter, dangerous at both ranged and melee.


CH has been really nerfed, and once you become your own tank as a fencer, you may feel that your pets do little more for you than get in the way. I think CH is much more valuable for ranged people because it helps to keep your target at a distance from you, although new AI has been added to thwart that as often as possible.


I think you should keep at least 15 points invested in novice medic too. If you can afford a few more pointsfor first aid to stop bleeds, you'll survive rancors and tuskens a little bit better.

CH isn't as nerfed as people would think. I'd still not recommend it for PvP, and agree it is far more useful for a ranged professions. However some of the pets the BEs are making are just as good if not better than the pre nerf pets in PvE.

master fencer - the base


master brawler - 20 meter KD (extend further with power up)


TKA Meditation Tree - add 400-500 to entire HAM, heal bleeds, wounds -just like a jedi!


Pistoleer Tech Tree to Stopping Shot - Fire off two macro'd ranged bleeds as you close the gap to melee (mitigation lvl 2 helps as well)




Optional with Extra Points:


Smuggler Dirty Fighting - Feign Death (for when the 6 rancors are winning) Ranged KD before firing pistol bleeds as you close into melee range


Medic - For folks who like the safety of self healing (buffs + TKA med + FD makes myself not need this so much)


Pistoleer Grips - If you believe the devs lied that dodge doesn't stack lol or just take Fanshot and speed (you know, to agro all the rancors at once)



I took Fencer as profession #11 in my holo grind - I love it! I put the grind aside to have some fun with a class that has just that - class.


Any suggestions on these templates are most welcome indeed

/agree completely, although youve forgotten to mention that TKA med also heals poison and disease (my bane) much faster

Right now my fencer template i am working on and that seems to work even at this stage is.


Master Fencer


Master Brawler


0304 in TKA for defenses. I find that in PvP Meditation is not really needed, niether in big campaings, but even though it is a handy thing on hunts or if you are in a big campain and have the time to hide away right quick and meditate then that also works. I usually try to always know who can cure what in my group so i would not need to waste my points on meditation line.


2011 In Pistoleer, going to be going for 4040


4040 in pistoleer is my goal with maybe a couple of boxes in the last row for more meele defense depending on what i have left. Also i hope to find that the +40 to dizzy and KD will help in my fights against a TKM, though i do pretty well as of right now, being the chances are 50/50 depending on how experienced the tkm is, as in any other perfession and how lucky i am


2110 in medic as long as i can use stim b's im good to go


Marksmen loll can remember what line it is but the one with the pistol section


With the added dodge i have right now in pistoleer i know its not complete, but i have gotten 3 blocks of dodge from the perfession so i can deffinatly say dodge does increas, Wheather or not it works more towards pistol or meele is still up in the air. I can swear that one day illl be dodging more with my pistol and the next with my meele weapon, But theres also allot of other things you have to take into effect, misses, evades, and how many times you actually get hit that would enable a dodge. Also fighting different npc's will always have different skills and accuracy levels with different weapons. Best bet is to practice on a friend for a long time not just 5 or 8 matches but allot of matches to have a good record to compare.


Had to drop scout to try to make this template work, so its handy to keep a mount around deffinatly


Please let me know your opinions on this template.

After the last patch upper level mobs have way more accuracy now, so maybe thats why you think there's no stack. Personally, I wait until I hear it from a MF/MP.

im building my fencer to be a master medic/master fencer/ master brawler... to me it seems liek the best choice... i use to be a CH but dropped it after the long grinds and worthless pets.... that and i came back to this game and CH were nerfed... couldent even use my GSP anymore
