Thread: How do ya beat commandos doing 2k dmg first hit?

not companing ,just wondering some stratgy and what kinda armor should i wear,.....im 4/4/0/3 fencer atm trying to master fencing.ialso havemaster medic and CH....seems soon as i get in range to melle them ,i turn to bacon...any tips would be great....thks

for me, i have to fight indoors and get the first hit. if you can knock them down, you've got a very good chance of winning. when indoors, you can use walls and rooms to help you.

try some armor designed for certain situations and hotkey it. if it's a blast weapon, have some padded ready, or a PSG for the closing run. when you get up close, start wailing.

i don't really have much to tell you, hopefully someone else will pick this up and fill in the holes here.

I'd like to know too, I'm a master commando with a holo that said to come fencer, but fortunately accuracy wont be a problem with 280,000 combat exp in the bank. Can't wait to hit novice.

you'd like to know? we should be asking you! what's the hardest thing for a commando to overcome? you have the unique perspective here, and we're gonna use you!

and welcome to the fencer community. hopefully we can help each other out. no offense, but you dern commandos just get me torqued.

Wear some 50% or higher composite. Dizzy/lunge/blind/intimidate spam your best attack until they die. Deathblow. TAke off all your armor sit down adn heal to full. Wait a couple seconds then heal your first pulse of 200-500 wounds. Heal your damage. Wait and then heal the second pulse. Keep repeating heals until the fire wears off. If you are on a planet that has water try fighting close to the water to avoid the whole wound thing.

if i understand correctly, the swimming state will reset the on fire state. it also makes me wonder if rain will do the same thing, but i imagine that hasn't been incorporated yet.

i have no proof though, can anyone confirm this?

Water will instantly get rid of flame, even if someone is in water the DOT wont stick, but the initial damage will. Now rain, thats just a hopelss cause, I would love to see rain work to put out fire, but I doubt it's gona happen because the rain effects are always outasync from one character to annother. I've also heard of take cover tumbling work...but that could bea myth. Noone Ive ever roasted did the stop drop and roll. Now the only sure fire fire beater is meditation at master.

the thing, like going against any ranged opponent is getting close to them.. If u can score a knockdown, then you're good, if not, you have a couple of seconds either to run away or at them because u wont last long...

well so far in my duels with commandos the score is 11-1 11 to me that is.



What i usally do is this dizzy/lunge them and 9/10 if the y get time 2 shoot they miss.

ok, I had a beautiful elaborate explaination to everything you could ever want to kill a commando....but hit reset instead of submit...so, i'll make a new post on the boards later on.....damnit, I lost a little bit of my sould when that happened

yeah, i once did that with a huge ass guide i wrote. i feel for you. what i do now, since the boards often have technical difficulty, is before i post anything, i hit control A, then control X, then control V. that way i'm sure it's on the clipboard (instead of control C which gives no visual confirmation). then i submit.

Ack... While I've been able to beat all the Commandos I've dueled, last night, for the first time, I was one hit by a BH with a LLC. I didnt even have a chance to get a move in. I honestly don't know how in this sort of circumstance, we can win. It seems, at point blank range, we *should* win in these situations- but I certainly can see the validation in him winning as well.
