Thread: Fencer is not much of a broken class at all
I fought a teras kasi of equal skills and found him utterly undefeatable.. his 202 max damage knuckler helper him of course, and the fact he had (in his own words, just about ) about 200k worth of melee protective clothing on.
But: I just couldn't hit him, the teras kasi can dodge too well, I was only hitting him one time in five, and he can inflict 1000 damage per special on mountain worrts, while I can only inflict 300-700, very occasionaly (one time in 200) 1000. I asked him about it, and he claimed that fencers were faster and weaker than the teras kasi?
fencer's only broken parts are the defensive mod's(dodge)... tka's r just overpowered... or maybe fencers are underpowered....
The reason TKAs hit so hard is because the devs gave them weapons, along with damage bonuses. If you look, throughout the TKA tree, one gains about +100 something damage mods. Now I'm not sure if this stacks with vibro knuckler damage (I'm pretty sure it does) but either way, I believe it equals out to be far more viable than our SHARP EDGED SWORDS...
I don't want to get into the logic of vibro knucklers. The don't quite make sense to me because of the damage mods TKAs get. Rather, the devs should have just introduced, many different types of knucklers, or none at all, and given different types of damage to certain TKA attacks.
TKAs have extra damage bonuses, highest speed mods, and also, highest accuracy mods. Let's not forget, they've also got defenses that rival composite armor.
It seems to me like the TKA is at the point where all melee classes should be. Either that or the devs just too a little bit out of each melee class (and a lot out of pikeman) and dumped it into TKA.

What kind of weapon are you using man? I use a damage sliced Curved Sword (80-187 if I recall correctly) and a damage sliced Vibro Blade (tops at 147 I think) Can't give you exact numbers because the servers are down. I'm only a Novice Fencer (almost to the first box) and I regularly hit mountain worrts for 1100-1200 with either of these weapons. With my Stun Baton I don't hit as high (usually in the 700-800 range) but with either of the others it's easily over 900-1000, I'd say four swings out of five. If I get a good power-up I can hit as high as 1500 pretty regular. This is using One Handed Hit 2, results are alot lower (400-500) if I use Body Hit 1. I'm working up to Master Brawler also so hopefully with Lunge 2 for the knockdown I'll be able to get even higher hits.

for one commanods are not to powerfull... they have to make master marksmen andclimb the unarmed tree.... while we only need to climb the 1h tree
i noticed it said we where suppose to hit hrder also... that tickled my funny cone since we don't....
and i looked at the test center stuff... it seems every melee class but us got HAMs lowered(unless im retarded and missed it... what i probably did *blames the drugs cause he can*)... **edit**?
basically all fencer could use is some better weapons.... ummm... lower speed cap? and.... lower HAMs.... cause after dueling my friend for fun and using the good ole dizzy + 1h lunge to knock him down then knocking him stright the **edit** out....i realised fencer aint too bad really....
BUT.... the fact i can get killed by a pistoleer in 2-3 hits and barely know what happend... that needs to change... maybe we should get abit more 1h toughtness at master(10?)?
I simply hate the "They have to grind more, so they should be more powerful" logic.
Classes that need collective prerequisites like Commandos and BH should fight on their variety. This should give them the range of being very poor fighters or very good fighters, based on how smart the player is. Specialized classes like Fencer and Rifleman should be more -specific.- This means that theyfill their niche well, but don't have the same versatility of a BH or a commando to adapt to different situations. As it stands, BH, TKA,and Commandos just have one-horse skills that they spam over and over again, defeating just about anyone with - that's not how it should work. PvP should require actual skill, not "my friend told me that I will always win a duel if I run around like a chicken with its head cutoff while mashing the eyeshot key frantically!"
