Thread: PLEASE PLEASE give Gad baton or ryyk blade AP PLEASE
P.S Tka need help too! i mean come on devs. 90% armor and they get only a kinetic ap 1 weapon that does less than 200 damage...
Idon't have a problem accepting a vibro-type weapon with light or even medium AP, though in the hands of a Fencer it might be too overpowering to a lot of the non-armored mobs out there.
Yet, we see all the new mobs with high level armor, and it's only going to become more and more common. There's no point in even approaching some of the re-balanced Dathomir and Dantooine NPCs, the battle droids from the city invasions were pretty much untouchable by Fencers, the geonosian mobs are not much better, and I'm sure the Corvette mobs will be equally well protected.
Instead, maybe we should start seeing more content that plays to our strengths, in addition to all this new content that seems to betargetedtoward swordsmen and riflemen.
The Tusken Fort is a good example-- a lot of the high damaging professions just can't keep up with the numbers, it's not unusual for an unbuffed Fencer to be the last one standing after a big spawn.
As for the Ryyk itself, I see no problem if it had Light AP.

Swordsman should get a heavy hitting attack, but they should not hav the AP2 hammer...
In real life there is a reason the swords went from the huge claymores, broad swords, 2 handed swords and the like to small rapiers and foils...
IT WAS ARMOR. The rapier became the sword of choice for one reason. It was the only thing that could get past the armor. Weapons that were small enough to find the gaps in it. At the time, guns were becoming more prominent and that is where the classic 'full plate mail' comes in with squires. Guns were not very good back then and lacked a punch, so the armor became more.. it actually got so bad that the squires were required to help the Knights get onto their horses, the stuff was just too damn heavy. Another weapon made it into this period and that was the double bladed battle axe... This tool was used on a Knight when he was unhorsed to go to work on him while he was on the ground. It was a long process that took alot of time. The Rapier type weapons made short work of it.
After that period the rapier type weapons became preferred because they negated the armor.. the classic instances of cutting buttons off ones shirt was a way to show skill in the use of that fine point being placed where the weilder needed it. Eventually armor died out because of this and the increased power that guns were becoming capable of.
My point... The Swordsman should do incredible damage, but why is it that THEY are the ones that get the armor piercing ability and are able to pick the pools they attack? What are we fencing for then? We are more like a super cop with a glorified night stick than a fencer... we might as well be called CLUBISTS.. it fits our MO way better.. the lack to bleed, the lack to pick the pool we target...
I know that we have the best defence out there, and I can see why they do not want us doing a lot of damage cause of it.. but if u are going to call something a fencer he should resemble it at least a little..

Good point, but I wanted to point out here back in publish 1-3 vibroblades used to be incredibly nice pvp weapons even with good armor out on the market at the time. Since publish 4 vibro blades were silently adjusted an now do not do very well or even worth using In pvp complared to a stun baton or gaffi stick. We have an AP 1 weapon its just that from combat data observed over the patches our weapon was adjusted as it would by dev's standards deamed to powerful. *shurgs*
