I have been told many times by many people that these three professions are the best. Also from reading this forums it seems like Fencers do have their problems soloing things that others do not have problems with, although every prof has there problems as I have seen in the forums for TKA and Heavy Swordsman. I am abit confused on what to use. I am currently 2-0-0-0 TKA and Novice Fencer but I intend to master Fencer eventually. The one and only reason I want to be a fencer is because they are not stuck to Kinetic dmg. I would probably be TKM but getting 80% kineticcomposite is to easy now. What do you think is better all around or if possible the best combination of both of them.

Well, if you want to do pve, swordsman is your best bet. If you want pvp, tera kasi and fencer are pretty neck and neck, both with their flaws and strengths, and yes the stun baton gives a huge advantage in armored combat. If you want to do pve and pvp tera kasi is the way to go, we fencers are ok at pve, but our stun baton is not a great pve advantage, and the tera kasi kd helps alot more, unless u wanna spend points on master brawler for lunge 2. So it really comes down to what you're going to do.

What about a combination of Fencer and Rifelmen, do you think that would work good. (Along with some Medic if enough skill points are left over.)

Fencer beats out TKM in PvE with extra defenses from a profession like Rifleman easily. And in PvP Teras Kasi lose to Fencers everytime if armour is involved. Hell.. even if it isn't involved. Rifleman stacked with Fencer is a good template for PvP and PvE. And Medic is of course welcome!

All right good, I was orignaly going for Fencer 0/4/0/0 Rifleman 4/0/0/0. But I'll just go for all of it now.

You wouldn't happen to know any thing good to hunt for a person who's only One-Armed IV would ya?

And thanks.

I think fencers are great in PvE. I almost never get hit when using CoB, and I've never even stacked defenses (just pure fencer). We may not always put out the most damage, but since it is very hard to hit us, it doesn't matter much.

I've never played swordsman before, but I've heard they are very good PvE.

As for TKA, everyone is a TKA. Sure they are really good, but honestly I like the defensive ability of fencer better.

My template is a lot of fun in both PvE and PvP. PvP I feel pretty secure in that if I get killed it's cuz I made a mistake or someone bettered me (I'm not saying I'm great, but I do feel confident in my template to know that it takes either or both of those to take me out).

PvE I work pretty well as a tank. Fencer defense mods make me missable a lot of the time by Mobs and with the AoE attacks of the Fencer (including the Blind Spin), even better at tanking cuz the stuff is missing a lot more than hitting me. The TKM stuff changes it up if I need to take something out faster (more damage). I almost never use my stun baton in PvE (too HAM expensive).

Fencer is another one of those professions that is "working properly". I hope the whining doesn't spill over to here once they're done whining TKAs down into dog chow.

i'm currently TKM, and I'm picking up 4/4/0/0 for additation defense stacking, on top of my 0/0/4/4 pistoleer

it's all depends of what you do. I think my template would make one uber TKM. for both PvP and PvE. Of course I'm still going to keep the dirty fighting tress on Smuggler, so for those damn riflesman.

tkm is probably the best class for low and midlevel pve content, but when you get to the high end stuff with medium armor, and/or 80-100% kinetic resists, you're not gonna be doing much. in pvp tkm can hold its own, but i'd say anyone that knows what they're doing can easily counter a pure tkm. again, the kinetic only damage plays into this.

swordsman are slower than both fencer and tkm, but they are handsdown the best pve melee class. lots of higher end mobs have low blast resist so swordsmen eat through them. in pvp they tend to be a bit slow, harder to play, but still a viable option. you will probably need master brawler for the kd to complement it.

fencers are similar to tkms. great for low and midlevel pve but also hit a wall when it comes to heavily armored opponents. stun baton is great in pvp, but has no armor piercing. but the stun weapon is very handy in pvp and makes the fencer a bit more than a one trick pony.

you can probably pick and choose any 2 of these professions if you want to be a pure melee template. just figure out what it is that you want to do in game.

As a Master Swordsman / Novice BE I find that headhit3 takes down just about anything I need, Between the fast hits of my 2-handed sword, and the Massive blast damage I can deal out every 1.9 seconds with my Power Hammer, I am pretty set for PvE. Now in PvP I find that while not as effective as stun, the shear amount of damage at a decent speed I can deal out with my hammer makes up for the higher blast protection of most armor. I can hit in PvE for 4k+ fairly often, so it really boils down to what YOU prefer. I tried several combat profs before settling on this one, it just fit me.

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell

Bottom line: TKM is the best overall melee profession for both PvE and PvP. Although a Swordsman with some good armor and/or buffs will probably out-do a TKM in PvE..but in PvP, the TKM wins 90% of the time or more, regardless of anyone's 80% kinetic composite armor.

Edit: Forgot to mention Fencer As far as PvE goes, if you can blind it, you can solo it..this is different in PvP, as TKM's have pounded through my Master Fencer dodge/CoB/blind with ease time after time after time. Oh, also, forgot to mention that the TKM, as with any other person, will lose most definitely if they are downright stoopid (intentional mis-spelling).
