Time to put some rumors to rest:

The onlydefenses multi-pool attacks like scatterhit and unarmed combos bypass is melee toughness and dodge/counterattack. They do not ignore damage mitigation, secondary defenses, or armor/psgs or the armor rating of such. That is fact.

I'm really tired ofpeople saying "oh I heard from a friend who heard from a friend who's roommate said that scattershot2 bypasses armor." Hate to burst your bubble but it doesnt.

um....it ignores Armor rating. Turning an ap comp suit pretty much into an AP0 comp suit. That is why scatter hit, with a stun baton equals immense amount of damage to your opponent since it is blocked by the weakest resist on a stun comp suit. PSG's will keep you alive for a bit longer. That and dodge make us a dangerous proffession.

It does not ignore armor rating. I don't know where you are getting that from.

I wouldn't say it if I hadn't. I wouldn't expect a jedi to believe me though.Yes scattershot2 bypasses lightsaber toughness which is a bug and should be fixed. Yes Cob makes it so a jedi can hardly hit a fencer. That still doesn't mean people have to exaggerate or make up bugs concerning professions.

Fencer A hits person B with scattershot2 for 800 damage

40% stun armor = 800damagebecomes 320 damage

Since the stun baton has no armor piercing, it gets cut by 50% making it 160 damage

Effect sliced psg at 50% stun makes that 160 damage 80 damage.

Scattershiak did not bypass ap1 of the composite armor. In fact, weapon specials are a totally different system than the armor system. The only thing that affects armor is a weapon, not a weapon special.

it ignores armor rating because stun is the only vulneralbility comp armor has and vulnerable damage types ignore armor ratings but even tho your comp armor has reisists to stun its still vulnerable and thus the bugg making your armor ar 0 with a percentage against stun.

i hope that makes sense

What is this screenshot supposed to show? The only thing I see is someone who has alot of defenses.

Now onto how scattershot2 works and why it ignores melee toughness:

Scattershot2 hits all 3 pools simultaneously, basically 3 seperate attacks in 1. Unfortunately the game does not register them as 3 seperate attacks. Melee toughness works by decreasing the amount of damage done to a single pool. When someone uses scattershot, you are hitting all 3 pools and the system twitches out, confused on which damage pool to decrease.

Go ahead and try and test it. Have your friend wear just some stun armor. Hit him with scattershot2 and write down the damage reported in the combat log and the actual damage that floats above his head. You will see that if you take the damage reported in the combat log, decreased by the stun resists on your armor and then decreased again by 50%, that it will almost equal the floaty damage.

scatter2 does indeed ignore armor ratings, i got hit for 300ish damage from scatter2, combat log stated that only 30 damage got absorbed by my armor.

Look at the bottom of the screen, the hit he gets incapped by is scatter hit 1 and he dodged it.
