Thread: 'Advanced weapons' aren't any better than a sword

I'm on Bria, Tatooine. I have a sword that hits for 17-72, 4.5 speed. And those stats are better than anyryyk blades or vibroblades I've found in the bazaar. Has anyone found a better weapon for 1h attack? Isn't the nature of an 'advanced weapon' to be better than an average sword? I think I'm missing something.

thanks,

Fetthunter.

I use a Gaderfii baton. It is 49 -99 5.8 It is significantly better than a sword (4/3'ds better infact).

The more advanced weapons will get better in time as crafters are able to experiment more with rykk blades and rantok swords.

I am currently certified to use a Rantok sword, yet am only weilding a gaderfii baton. *sigh* It takes time for the crafters to catch up.

The powercrafters haven't advanced their W/C techqnique yet if that is the case.

Takes around 250,000 w/c exp to get master melee weapons, and then another 250,000 w/c exp to get master crafting techniques, so even the power grinders are going to take awhile to build good weapons.

Unfortunatly we cant use the rantokk because it isnt in the game at this time. The weaponsmiths dont have the schematic for it but hopefully they will be in game soon.

Tips to getting a better weapon

1 find a melee smith. Dont buy junk off the bazaar fact is high quality weapons cost more than the 3000 cred max on the bazaar. If you have a melee smith add him to your friends list get to know him tip him. Ask for specially crafted weapons. The better relationship with the melee smith the better the weapons he will produce for you and more customized to your needs he will make them. It may cost more but what is a couple combat missions compared to quality weaponry.

2 slicing. slicing can greatly improve a weapon stats while dereaceing durablity. But hey you have a smith to make you a new weapon whenever you need them. The better chance the guys has for success the higher the price but hey we are paying for quality goods here.

3 weapon power ups. At crafting 3 i can make powerups with 20% first modifer and 10 % second modifer. My unsliced curved sword went from 3.7 speed to 3.3 speed with a 10% speed power up. As these can effect any stat on the weapon they can improve any weakness in the weapon (HAM cost) or strength its advantages( max damage, min damage, speed) If my take a lot of crafting to find just the specs you want on a powerup but they can make all the difference in the world in combat.

I have recently bought a really really nice sword. It's from my currently favorite crafter Kaoz on Ahazi.

It's a curved sword that does 50-140 with a 2.9 second delay. It's sickening. I can't wait until he makes vibro swords and ryyk blades as well.

Sorry i wont buy from people that charge people to go in there shop to spend MORE money. Add to the fact that actually finding any weapons on his vendor is near impossible, and i wont waste my time. Ill give him props, i know he makes quality weps, but id rather just wait. AS for Gaderffi batons. in NEVER seen one that has less than 50 health cost, and thats worthless as far as im concerned. Maybe not against carbine or rifle using PC's but we'd be dead before we got to them anyway.

If ham costs are a big concern you should look into finding a decent chef that can produce food which will provide bonuses to your stats that take the worst hit. Getting your quickness a +700 bonus will certainly make that 54 HAM cost a bit lower...

Also, there are weapon powerups available (on Chilastra at least) that will lower certain HAM costs on weapons as well.

I agree, but id rather not have to spend all my times worrying about food and powerups. HAM costs are what seperate a good weapon from adecent weapon, and im not even going to bother trying fencer until i can find a decent one.

Gaderiffi Batons are really good, unfortunately they have a High Ham cost.

Luckly Its not so bad on your mind so I think they are great. I group with a medic friend of mine, and he can heal me up real quick. The only limiting factor in any battle is mind, so thats all I ever worry about. Then again most people don't have a gaurenteed medic to group with =)

The most aggrivating thing to me is the huge HAM costs even when you do find an "advanced" sword. As a main scout with 1200 or so HP, id still never use a gaderffi because of the insane health HAM. I just managed to pick up a curved sword, with a 3.6 speed, which thwomps the reg sword i was using. Even if the damage was lower id still use the curved, but the action have cost is like 53, which just sucks.

I think im going to just wait on fencer until there are some decent weps, and work on Pistol, because theres almost no point to even use them.

Most Gaderffifs on the market are dropped from Tuskens not player made and they basically suck. It will take awhile for good experimented Gaderiffis to hit the market.
