Thread: Your VOTE for Fencer TOP Fencer Issues (10/4/03)

is being submitted in it's entirety. The devs will be able to look them all over and get to each of them as they can.
However, in addition to the entrie list we need to submit a NUMBER TOP PRIORY Fencer Issue to wave as a red flag to get attention asap. In additon, we want a Top Five Fencer Issues (not including the previous one) to push after that one is addressed. The rest will be presented as a "we need these, but the need the others first" kind of way. Once the Top Priory Issue is addressed, any of the Top Five Issues that have not yet been addressed will be promoted to the Top Priority Issue. Whenever there is a vacancy in our Top 5 Issues, then something else will be be voted up into its place... and so on... until all of our Issues have been addressed in some fashion (either by being implimented/fixed/adjusted or thrown out) by the Devs.
I'm including an abbreviated version of what is at the link for those not will to visit the link themselves. I know there are issues brought up on the thread that may not be expressed in this abbreviation. Most were simply minor various on this list.However, anything not on this list that you would like to vote for is still fine.
The way this will work:
Place your vote for the Top 6 issuesin the order of importance to you. The one at the top of your list gets 6 points, then next down gets 5 points, and so forth.
At the end of the voting period the issue with the most points gets the spot as the "Fencer Top Priority Issue", and then the next top five get the "Top 5 Issues" positions.
Please do not vote "ties". ("My number one vote is either Issue X or Issue Y, as they are both have the same importance to me.") I can't submitties as our"Top Issue", so please make a decision.
Please include in your post what your current Fencer skill biuldup is, as this information comes in handy during discussions with ther Devs. In other words, they would like to know if certain issues are experienced more by dabblers, professionals, or masters.
Fencer Issues:
Fencer Animation Issues
1. Fix Change weapon stutter.
2. Fix Begin combat stutter.
3. Fix Hit-while-running stutter.
Fencer Weapon Issues
1. Vibroblade graphic.
2. Better selection of viable 1-handed weapons.
3. Rantok needs to be craftable.
4. Extend 1-handed Weapons range.
5. Better AP and more damage types.
Fencer Offense Issues
1. Give us a /stick command to compensate for Client vs. Server issues.
2. Alter the speed cap for Fencers. (0.5 suggested)
3. Restore functionality to our Status attacks.
4. Give us a method of stopping/slowing Fleeing opponents.
Fencer Defense Issues
1. Improve Dodge.
2. Improve/Fix Status Defenses.
3. Higher Melee/Ranged Defense and/or One-handed Toughness.
Fencer HAM Issues.
1. Lower HAM costs, specifically Mind.

Eclipse Server
1. Weapon speed (to clarify this though, I think that lowering the speed cap is the wrong move and the whole formula needs to be changed)
2. /stick or some fix for client/server "fudging"
3. Defenses. Make them more effective for melee. All of them.
4. Better selection of weapons.
5. Functionality for status attacks (without making them too good -- posture/dizzy, etc. was baaad).

Ok...
1) Restore Functionality to our status attacks
2) Fix the ungodly HAM costs
3) Fix inability to hit opponent while he's running away from you, and this fix should make damage they can inflict comperable with what we can (ie it's just as difficult for them to attack while moving, as it is us, so we shouldn't have a higher penalty to hit while moving than tanged does)
4) /stick command
5) Increase weapon range
6) Improve/fix status defenses and please add some sort of poison defense

Please read the voting instructions in the first post. (Some of you have, some of you haven't) Since we do not have a real voting mechanism on these boards, it's essential everyone stick to the same method to be able to accurately weigh out your 6 top votes.
Also, please include where you stand on the Fencer tree (or 1-hand tree if you are still working your way up through Brawler) for Fencer cencus data. Danke ![]()

For the love of god, how about some new wookiee clothes or something useful?

3. Alter the speed cap (I had 2 and 3 reversed, but if HAM isn't reduced first, I'll just kill myself faster)
4. Restore functionality to our Status attacks
5. Extend 1-handed weapons range
6. Better selection of viable 1-handed weapons
Novice Swordsman 1-1-2-1
1. Greater range on melee attacks to offset client/server sync issue. /stick command would be nice.
2. Method of keeping fleeing opponents in range. In beta for PvE, I'd use Taunt - it'd pull mob into melee range. I'm not sure what it specifically does in the current build.
3. Broken WarCry1 and WarCry2- these never, ever land. Broken since introduction of delay timer.
4. Inconsistent Intimidate 1 and Intimidate 2- I use this to increase my survivability in combat. It's prone to long strings of failures.
5. Useless Berserk - damage added doesn't offset the the defense penalty nor the inabilities to (a) use specials, (b) /peace, and (c) /healdamage. Need a way to cancel Berserk or make it more useful.
6. More interesting and varied weapon choices to differentiate my fighting style.
0201 Fencer.
Note: I know I included many Brawler issues. Quite honestly, I don't see how you separate Brawler from Fencer, considering Brawler is an integral part of Fencing (or any other melee profession for that matter). Fixing outstanding Brawler issues would go a long way to addessing the toughness, DPS, and kiting issues that frequently crop up as "Fencer-specific" issues.
