If anyone would like me to answer any questions I will be happy to do so within the boundries of some specifics which I am still under NDA for.

Explain the DoT area to us. Does this mean we get our very old bleeds back?

Im also confused about the role as a whole...as I'm sure many of fencers are...mind putting it in laymans terms?

We will be getting a usefull bleed line (which is the only way to bleed an opponant in the entire game, no other profession will have access to bleeds, not even on weapons), and we will be getting some special moves which are entirely tactical in nature, A cripple move which slows an opponant, and others which allow us to actually be the number 3 damage dealer in the game, though through a unique manner of execution.

i am master fencer, tkm, master brawler, novice pike,novice sword, medic 2,1,4,0 . is my template going to be modified after the C.U. happens (after download)? will i automaticly have these new skills?will i have to grind these new skills? guess wut i am asking is this sounds like a rock solid template (my favorite so far) and for all around fun. so am I going to lose any of these skills also ?

Ok, this might be under NDA, but Im guessing dodge will either be "nerfed"(for lack of a better word) or taken out entirely.

When I read the CU doc it seems we have lost our finesse touch. Also will we be getting posture/knockdown attacks just added to the actual fencer tree(not just brawler)?

And will fencers be speedcapped almost all the time like we are now?

No one should be speed capped anymore, we will be one of the fastest (if not the fastest) hitting professions around, but how that is manifested I cannot say at this time.

Specific moves I cannot really get into... save to say that we do get some pretty cool ones with pretty nifty effects which mesh with our role.

Not sure if it's specifically under the NDA or not so I'll just say this... some modifiers just don't exist in the new combat system... some new ones do... and some have changed but the name remains the same.

You will have those skills, and some option (however it is manifested) to convert those into other skills if you choose to.

Will current CA and AA mods work with the new system.

Specifically...

Onehand Accuracy
Onehand Speed


Im pretty sure of the answer, and if you cant say because of NDA then nm.

I read all the documents and I am still not going to drop Fencer... I love it too much even if it is being toned down. Althought, The alternative to this would be complimenting it with Commando... because of it's High Offense (5) Defense (3) and the Crowd control. I think this would be a good profession to compliment fencer with because if things get to hairy as a fencer (Crowd Control), I can pull out a Flame Thrower and being controlling things alot quicker. My question is, I know there will be a respec allowed for skills... but how is the line of prerequisites going to play a roll in the overall HAM upgrade... For instance, I am a Master Fencer and lets say that I get a 3000 max Health attribute... Then I switch to my Intermediate Commando skills... Will my HAM instantly reflect as such?

Hey MR, well lets see so far i like the proposed changes the questions i have are.

sence you can no longer speed cap, should we not waste time on speed SEA's?

should we not waste time on SEA's at all till after CU?

Is alertness still a fencer skill ?

from what i read it seems stacking will be a great benifit, especially melee with melee. is there any truth to that?

is there anything you can tell us to get ready for CU ?

nerfing our tanking


basically, we will have the third best damage, our damage (bleeds) will suck in the DWB (you cant bleed anything there, its all droids) we cant take hits anymore - Jedi will still remain the main PVE damage dealers no doubt


why the heck would anyont take a fencer into the DWB now?


atleast before we could tank 'decently', now we cant tank, we get hurt like we're made out of glass, and we will still get outdamaged by other professions, in situations like the dwb, nobody wants the 'ok all round characters' they want the ones that cant tank the best to tank, the ones that can heal the best to heal, and the ones that can damage the best to damage, and we cant even bleed droids...


what will be our use in the DWB? as a DWB fanactic and a fencer fanatic these changes really put the nail in the coffin for me which sucks as i love the game as it is atm

1) Fencers were terrible tanks to begin with, sorry, we are(not even comparable to a swordsman or TKM).
2) You have skillpoints left to combine other professions, filling the defense hole.
3) Would you rather be a tank that does no damage or a semi-decent tank(we wont be TERRIBLE as tanks...)that can hit like a banshee.

I know how you feel, I too am a DWB junkie(read sig) but this is actually better for us. We just might be formible damage dealers. Combining with a prof like TKM might fill in the defense hole.
